I'm quite good at research, quite good at growing things, quite good at being kind, ( very bad at being patient and forgiving though ) but I'm not an expert at anything and actually I'm quite pleased about that, because if I were an expert at only one or two things it might make me a less interesting person ;-)

I am so envious of you John - still doing 200 miles a week at your age, so many jobs, so much experience - you are a lucky man/woman

John, Yes it was HGV, I was whats known as a tramper out 4 and 5 nights per week

As for Eddie Stobart they are very over rated every job is a drama, They are just the same in real life as they are on the TV programme

Not what i would call professional at all in fact i personally know 2 of the drivers on that programme both where fired from previous jobs for their lack of road craft, I would love to see stobart driver in the narrow lanes of pembrokeshire collecting/delivering to farms in areas like Angle, Dale, or Marlows in the height of summer

Incredible, Roy. Was that in HGV? There are so many drivers who are extremely professional. I used to admire Eddie Stobart drivers very much.

Regrettably, my 1 point whatever million miles over 30 plus years did NOT make me a very good driver. Perhaps a lucky one as I never was involved in a major accident. I am glad to only be driving about 200 miles a week now. The driving did make me an expert on the geography of E & W - and Scotland. And an expert on hotels as I stayed out 2 nights a week on average during all those years. :-)

I used to do 55,000 a year when living in Great Chesterford and working in London. What a drag that was! An extra 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 hours on top of my working day.

I am expert at being a lifelong Crystal Palace supporter.

I used to drive for a living and did an average of 160,000 miles per year so i also no my way around the UK and several other EU countries so does that make me an Ultimate expert

Errol. That is typical mileage for anybody who works for a multi-site company. I was Cortina man (apologies to John Betjemann)

Used to have a new Cortina or whatever every 2 years!! Fully expensed (and no tax in those days either :-D)

Lot of hours to spend in a tin box, innit :-(
