Yes they could well be, some birds (blackbirds) have more than one brood/nest per season.

i hope my robins and jenny wrens
have a good year raising their babies
i love watching them and had to laugh one year
when the wrens built a nest in my jumper hanging on the line
i dont think they were happy when i brought the washing in

The Sparrows that live in my garden (around 35 to 50) usually start nest building on or about the 14th February. Last week i noticed some of them already pulling out bits of old plants and carrying it up into the ivy.

I do fear for the young when they start so early in the year.

We have hedges on two sides of our garden & have had blackbirds nesting in both for at least 30 years now. We believe it is those of the same line on the left side as one always has a faulty gene :-D (white feathers somewhere, possibly carried from the white one we originally had)

Every year my husband has to stop using one of his tractors for a while, as wagtails seem to like building nests in them, if no eggs he will remove it, but very often he does not see it till too late. There is usually at least one nest in a shed, the birds seem to take no notice of any comings & goings.

In our wood we have boxes up on several trees for blue tits/tree creepers etc I love to sit quietly by the pond & watch them go to & fro :-D

i have a hawthorne hedge round the side garden
and we have gold finches nesting there for the last 30 years
but i dont like the black birds nesting in it
as they wake us up an hour before daylight cheerping :-(
