And have you noticed that if something is shown on BBC1 and then shown some time later on BB2 it is not referred to as a 'repeat'?

The trouble with that Rollo is that lots of Quangos would have to go and Jobs for the Boys (Failures) Would be a thing of the past.(They,d have to actually work for a living) and we can,t have that can we? :-(

They have to balance the costs of the Manchester folly somehow right up to the vast sums spent on transporting nonentities to and fro from London.

Why is this toothless dinosaur, trading on the glories of former days, allowed to go on running its extortion racket? I can only guess.

Suppose ( as in France, it can be done ) the license fee was repealed. There would be more than a few redundancies. OTOH most of the population would have nearly £ 200 p.a. to spend on something else.

The French repealed their version of the road fund tax as well shifting the cost to fuel tax - no paperwork, no avoidance, fair. Even then French petrol is cheaper than in England.

They can get rid of the ones who are at the scene and make the story drag out for hours asking stupid questions of 'eye witnesses' who weren't even there.

Maybe they could actually just present facts not speculation. Although that is one of Kay Burley's tricks on Sky. She can make one story last for 2 hours whilst guessing what happened.

News organisations COULD cooperate and use local reporters and save on flights.

Being sarcastic. I would have thought you could halve the number without it affecting programming at all. First on my list would be the one who won all the prizes recently - Susanna Reid. Followed by Jon Kay, Ben Brown, Naga Munchetty, Sally Nugent, Roger Johnson, Sophie Raworth, Fiona Bruce, Louise Minchin....... (contd on P 994)

I always fall asleep with the TV on....OH puts it on to BBC before he goes to work so I'm not watching ads for painting aids or carpet steamers lol....so I'm used to waking up to the news.

Actually quite enjoyed watching Bargain Hunt this morning......annoys me later in the day..but was quite a nice way to ease into my day this morning lol

...Well, waking up to an article on the radio about the pope this morning, I fell back to sleep, and woke up to the same article still going on :-S

Once I had dragged myself out of bed, I re-tuned to radio 4 extra, and listened to 'Round the Horn' before going off to work :-D

BUT am I the only one with zero sympathy for these journalists on strike.?

BBC massively over spends...as Chris in Wessex pointed out the other day...they already had a *man on the spot* when the pope resigned but STILL sent more out there to cover the story.

I for one am glad if they're going to trim it back.......
