Well done Suzanne very brave of you :-D

The only Suzanne I know is the Suzanne that lives in Wales but I am sure she was from Liverpool anyway its not important. I know there are a load of wonderful helpers on here and some not so. :-|

Like some have already said about adding as names as you can, personally I am not a fan of doing that, I like to be 100% sure and want some meat on the bones on my old reallies, I know that I am probabbly at a stand still going backwards but I do enjoy moving sidewards as well.

As for appearing I may consider it but I would like Kate Middleton to be dubbed over my voice as my voice and accent sounds like Vera Duckworth, of course when I DO get to be famous I will promote GR for nowt ;-)

I wonder how much of the content is decided/edited by GR

as Cynthia said JaneyCanuck was very knowledgeable and plenty others who could certainly show me a thing or two but most have sadly left GR now

Yes, 15 unopened messages - maybe she helps by pm but, that's hardly the point of the 'community' boards is it?

GR could have done with interviewing JaneyCanuck - now THERE's someone who knows all there is to know about research. Pity she's gone - but I have seen her busy helping elsewhere.

I can honestly say that I would never add my siblings, or any other living/recently deceased rellie to a tree. I need permission to do that anyway.

I was at the GRO 2 weeks ago, and wanted to know how old my dad's brother was when he died just a few years ago .
I discovered that he was NOT a brother at all, but had somehow become a permanent family member.
Wait for it... he was the biological great grandson of the couple who informally adopted my grandfather! ( my gf became his adoptive father).
This can wait for about 50yrs before I add it to my tree.

With 15 unopened messages i wonder if many old opened messages ever got a reply

May be she had 15 messages unopened because she doesn't come on GR very often ?

Cynthia, I think you could be correct, I have never seen her? post a reply to any query

If she is the member i think? "pity no board name given" so cannot be sure, then i have often seen her post asking for help in the past so hardly a helpful member

Don't think Susanne actually helps much on the boards though....does she?

Certainly not one of the 'regulars' who, in my humble opinion, are absolutely brilliant.

Don't want to appear in any video - but something I haven't seen mentioned - when adding information from censuses do put in the occupation - it does add a new dimension, quite apart from helping to identify family records. Sometimes the changes can tell a story in themselves - I have one pretty distant ancestor - first he is a theological student, boarding with a minister whose daughter he eventually married. Next he turns up for several censuses as a silk merchant - and lastly as a minister himself having gone back to his original calling. Some of the census summaries on different sites don't give this detail, it is well worth looking at the original, and the occupations for all the family members.

GR, there are some very good tips already stickied to the top of several boards - Jonesey's especially. Why not use those?
