That's my take also wisechild. They were work colleauges from over thirty years ago.
Acting best friends doesn't mean actors are friends in real life - it's just another job.

if they didn´t remain close friends, which they clearly didn´t, why should she comment?. Their lives moved on.
I wouldn´t know what to say if I was expected to comment on the death of someone I worked with 30 odd years ago & hadn´t seen since .

People deal with grief in different ways and she may be a very private person

Researching:
I have given up trying to find any information on (1) Mother of George Wotherspoon - he was born 1759 in Old Monklands. (2) When James Patrick Clusker born 1890 married Mary Ellen Bryant in USA. (3) Information on Thomas Wotherspoon born 1901 in Fife, lived in the Huddersfield area in 1952. Photo is of me in the cloisters of Iona Abbey.

In an interview he gave he said that they had never been close and that she had not been near him since he was ill. He said she was charming but strange.

I find it strange that Felicity Kendal hasn't made any comment or tribute regarding the death of Richard Briers unless I have missed some of the news.
I would have thought that after partnering him in the highly successful "Good Life" she would have made a statement by now.
Any comments from anyone !!!!!!
