I am a vege but OH and my dad are not so,while they have to eat vege because I am cooking it I do try to make it as much to their liking as I can.

I am always trying different ways to improve things and have had a bit of a result today.

We had a suet pudd'n for tea with Quorn steak strips and onion and mushroom. Today I fried the onion a bit longer than usual when I was making the filling and I rolled the Quorn strips in flour and green Oxo before I fried them and it worked. Fred expressed approval and that happens with about the same frequency as coronations!

Unfortunately none of us can move much now!

That sounds good.
Not what one would normally expect as a veggie meal, so I think that shows great initiative.

Really I know how to please me.

I grew up on that sort of food and always enjoyed eating them but could not reconcile myself with the source of the food.

We have cottage pie and rasher roly-poly as well as sausage toad,although I don't make that because my batter is rubbish.

It has taken a long time but I am getting the hang of it now.

Well Fred is thriving on it, so you must have got it right.

Think it meant not much for dinner, tried google and could not find a good answer. Remeber when I asked what's for dinner mum always said this.

My dau was about 3 yrs old and asked what was for dinner and I said 'frogs legs and spiders webs flavoured with thunder and lightning'. She sat down to dinner table and burst into tears - when I got her calmed down she was upset because that was not what I told her was for dinner!

I think it means a slice of bread that you pull to pieces to eat lol

A friend of mine used to say it, don't remember my parents saying it but it's probably a Norfolk thing. I also recall a Fresh Air sandwich lol
