Thanks for update, Ann. :-D

So Italy is denitely postponed. Expect she would like to see Senor Georgio and the new Pope (Pope Pierre the First?) at same time. And probably would like to visit Pope Benedict also at his Castle, who she seemed to get on with very well. :-)

AnnCardiff Report 3 Mar 2013 17:01

The Queen has been taken to hospital "as a precaution" after suffering symptoms of gastroenteritis.

Her Majesty, who is 86, is being assessed by doctors at the King Edward VII Hospital in central London.

The monarch is in "good spirits" and is otherwise in "good health", according to her spokesman.

She was driven to the hospital around 3pm and is expected to remain there for a couple of days.

The spokesman said: "This is a precautionary measure. She was not taken into hospital immediately after feeling the symptoms.

"This is simply to enable doctors to better assess her."

All official engagements planned for this week will be postponed or cancelled, Buckingham Palace said.

Sounds really horrible, Paula. And you are a relatively fit, youngish woman compared to Queen.

So it does sound like her sons and Princess Royal might have to just get a bit more work done these next few weeks whilst she fully recovers.:-)

Ref OP.
The Queen has my sympathies I had Gastroenteritis just before Christmas and I was so ill, I hope I never suffer it again. I did not eat anything for four days and did not leave the house for five days, so a trip to Cardiff or Rome would have not been on my agenda. I hope she is feeling better soon.

Anything is possible, KenSE. She does have a ruthless streak inherited from Elizabeth the First and Queen Alexandra, her great grandmother who was daughter of the tyrannical King of Denmark :-)

Could she be going to sign the merger between the RC and Anglican churches? She could be acting head until the new one is chosen. :-)

OFG It is a side of my family I don't like talking about :-( :-( Lots of murderers, plunderers and oppressors of the poor. I was driving round Rhondda yesterday in sil's very posh new Mercedes and I noticed my regal wave came very naturally.

And I did read once that she liked a cup of cocoa :-D ;-)

Your her 32nd cousin twice removed - I can see the "By Royal Appointment to JohnLovesCocoa" shields going up above all the shops near where you live :-D :-D :-D

Many thanks for your support. I am her 32nd cousin twice removed but she has much closer family who could and should be deputising. Probably hundreds on Genes chat.

When she couldn't get to Swansea, did HM not have a son who could have deputised. York is far away, Wessex is closer. Now what is title of other son and does he live anywhere near Swansea? Hmmmmm.

Would like to meet Pope Emeritus Benedict and/or Pope Futurus M Oullet, but not that bothered about President Georgio Armani Neapolitan (flake or no flake) ;-)

Is Georgio "99" Armani the serious one who doesn't invite people to Bunga Bunga parties? In that case, I think HM will be safe if health improves. :-)
