i have a lexmark printer. to replace the cartridges will cost £45. so i have bought a kodak printer as the ink is a lot cheaper. the lexmark is going to the church charity shop tomorrow.

Just looked at my invoice of July last year. I have an Epson SX200 and for 3 multipacks (4 colours) plus 4 single blacks I paid £16.95. This was with Prink, Kingcart.

I share these with son.

I get mine from IJT. They,re re manufactured but ok,and if you use enouh they will give you a printer FOC.**M**>

i always wait till the cartridges are three for two in winkinsons
but even then its costs a fortun eper year

and i only print family tree papers

Nobody forces you to buy a cheap color inkjet in Tescos etc. for under fifty quid. The inevitable bills for ink can be seen in the nearby accessories rack!

One way to cut the bills is not to print so much. A lot of people seem to print out all their emails, photos, census forms, letters ... Is that really necessary ?

If you must print a lot and wish to cut down bills then a very good home color laser printer is the OKI which will not hammer you with toner costs. £ 128 up front but you'll soon save that in ink costs.

terryj, I have seen a few colour printers that would suit my needs ranging from £12 to £25.

P.S. Don't get me started about tax dodgers at Amazon and E-Bay and also the professional retailers who have taken over car boot sales :-|

I am researching the Wotherspoon family from the Old/New Monkland areas of Scotland, some moved to the Leslie and Kelty areas of Fife and I'm having problems linking the Wotherspoon's from Leslie and the Wotherspoon's from Kelty. i brought a black dell laser printer new off the evil bay for general printing duties
still on the original toner cartridge 12 months later got a copy replacement to use when it runs dry £12 off those tax dodgers at amazon

The cost of printer cartridges is a total rip off, I do not do a lot of printing and I can buy a small new colour printer cheaper than I can buy the two cartridges for my current printer :-| :-S :-|
