Tracing connections on Ancestry

Having just spent hours trying to see how my ancestor is related to the home person on a massive public tree, I wonder if there are any tips for tracing through large trees.
Many are in bite sized chunks and you have to click on those with boxes showing that another branch of the tree opens up, quite soul destroying!
On Your own tree you can find out the relationship by clicking on "View relationship to me" is there a way to do it on other peoples trees please?

Thank you,
Mayfield

If there is that facility on Ancestry, I've never found it!

To be honest, if the link is so distantly removed from the Home Person that you can't easily spot it, any number of errors might have crept in.

When you have a FH related query, have you considered posting it on Find Ancestors or Genealogy Chat?

This board is really used to discuss anything but - snow, knitting, what the cat's been up to, I'm a grandma etc etc - and could easily be over looked.

Just a suggestion :-)

ON ANCESTRY TREE TOP RIGHT OPTION TO SEARCH PERSON OR GET A COMPLETE LIST OF ALL ON TREE OR HOME PERSON,
THE LIST SAVES A LOT OF TIME

Yes thank you both, I did realise when I posted that I was on the General not Genealogy, about 1 millisecond after I pushed the button! Still I thought I may as well leave it as General tends to be well visited so I might get lucky anyway :-D.

The tree list does give you the home person but it's still almost impossible to trace from your relation to the home one, I just hoped someone had a real neat trick up their sleeve!

Best wishes,
Mayfield
