Happily married to Marina since 1993, John?

Lapse of memory there.

I think not -

In 2004, British newspapers reported that Johnson had had a four-year affair with Petronella Wyatt. The affair, which had been well hinted at in UK newspaper gossip columns, included passionate London taxi cab rides around St John's Wood during which they would ask the cab driver to insert cassette tapes of Wyatt singing Puccini.Although Johnson had promised to leave his wife, after a break-up, they had rekindled their relationship during which Wyatt had become pregnant and then had an abortion. This resulted in her mother discovering the affair and reporting it to the press.

Johnson was sacked from his shadow cabinet post by Michael Howard, not because of the affair but because he had lied about it.

Not someone to be admired, I'd say.

I wasn't happy when Boris was elected Mayor but I think I was fooled by his foppish exterior plus I quite admired Ken Livingstone. He's really grown on me though and I think he's been an excellent Mayor and ambassador

Boris Johnson is a great favourite in this house. But we know not to underestimate him. He does a great job at playing the buffoon but we all know he is extremely well educated and very clever.

And his Who Do You Think You Are is one that I really enjoyed. Loved the fact that he said furtling or fossicking around... He uses words that are just so archaic.

I would like to think that Cameron is pooping his pants........

And I am not a Tory

:-D :-D :-D :-D

Mayfield Report 26 Mar 2013 10:38

I love Boris he has that Wilfrid Hyde White quality of the apparently stupid British official that puts “Johnny Foreigner” off balance and in fact is sharp as a knife.
I would love to see him talking to some of the EU politicians that are so up themselves and can imagine Sir Humphrey Appleby having kittens each time he opens his mouth at a diplomatic occasion.

Mayfield :-D

I should think one or two ladies woulkd also like to snip his .........
hair :-D ;-)

Long before he became Mayor of London and was appearing regularly with Merton and Hislop, I reckoned he could be Prime Minister one day.

He is the only politician who looks as if he enjoys his life and his job. The others are so drab. I look at May and Millibands (not sure which is which) and the Smith brothers (Ian and Duncan) and you would not want them to have a cup of coffee with you. You would be bored silly. There are half a dozen posters on here that are much better Prime Ministerial material (vote Sue).

But if Boris told us he had to take 10% out of our bank accounts, we would all go out and have a street party to celebrate that he did not want to take 20% :-D :-D

Alexander Boris de Pfeffel has 4 children from 2 marriages: Lara Lettice Johnson, Theodore Apollo Johnson, Milo Arthur Johnson, Cassia Peaches Johnson.

His first wife was Bob Geldof, as you can tell from names of his children. He has been happily married to Marina since 1993.

He is very uppercrust yet has the common touch. :-S And he is better than Lloyd George at ducking difficult questions. Even his squirming on Andrew Marr won't have harmed his image.

He is the ONLY major Tory politician in positive territory currently. Cam and Boy George lag far behind and are well into negatives and wil not recover pre 2015 election even if they give us £10k each to vote Tory.

He has as much charm as Baldrick for me. He's the embarrassing uncle no one likes to talk about who makes a fool of himself at family gatherings.

If he's made Tory leader the election is won for Labour.

Ann, I agree, wouldn't trust him further than I could throw him with the ladies! He has a certain charm but not my cup of tea!

Not sure if he has children?
