Potty Report 6 Apr 2013 10:10

Yesterday after a Windows update, Internet Explorer 10 had been installed on my computer. All seemed fine until this site would not refresh and I could not get onto scotlandspeople and also could not then open this site. All other sites I tried were OK.

I wondered if it was to do with a Do Not Track feature, so disabled this but still could not get onto these two sites. This morning everything is fine. Have since enabled the Do Not Track, restarted the computer and everything is now OK.

I was also unable to access either site using a laptop.

Did anyone else have problems yesterday or could anyone suggest what caused this (in case it happens again)?

I did wonder if it was something to do with using BT as our broadband supplier - have had problems on another site which "banned" BT users for a while.

Potty, absolutely no help to you at all, but yes I have experienced a few problems since my windows update yesterday (which I was informed was a critical one) Nothing major so far, but little annoying things

Am I the only one who gets fed up with these windows updates?

After everyone (at least weekly) you then find that every site you go to you have to re-log in.

And you always know when there is one waiting to go as your computer just behaves so slowly and irrationally.

:-(

No, you aren't the only one, PP! Don't usually have problems with logging in, though. The latest one did 43000+ updates! Do wonder what they all were!

You can change your settings so that it does not automatically update. You will then be prompted when updates are available and you can choose which ones to install.

Thanks, Errol but I wouldn't know which ones to choose!

There is always an explanation and you can also look them up online.
