And who,s "Laptop" is going to be your first to be repaired?, the mind boggles in wonder as to what tools would be required to do this, :-D,also what training did you have? and if it gets too busy will you be franchising it out? :-D :-D.

Geordie/ Erroll, 'fraid I copied it into pictures & rotated it.
:-D

My avatar is what it says.
Hopefully it doesn't give any idea of what I look like.
I haven't managed to reach his corpulence - yet!! :-(

Cynthia I say, steady on gal.

Roar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GeordiePride PMSL - I have this mental image now of dozens of people up and down the country and further afield trying to turn their laptops/monitors upside down and dropping them lolol

A synchronised clatter.

Budgie, don't change, I love your current avatar! And Maryanna, well done and such a truly glamorous one as well!

Errol, don't worry........we all know that you are not as green as you look....... ;-)

Merlin, shouldn't you have an apple in your mouth???

My avatars tend to reflect things I am interested in, not what I actually look like and, to be honest, I don't always WANT to know what people look like - I sometimes prefer to keep an 'illusion' in my head...............to me, Errol is a pet lamb....... in real life he may be a roaring lion :-)

I would not be so rude as to call anyone an 'old moaner', simply because they didn't have an avatar. There is also plenty of light and laughter around on the boards - if one looks in the right places...........

I love looking at the Avatars, it does not matter to me if it is an actual photo of the person or if it relates to the name or something else. When I first joined GR I was chatting to someone and from the Avatar and board name I had no idea if it was male or female, but I enjoyed our chats.......

Maryanna Report 22 May 2013 12:53

Well, just to prove I am not an old moaner I have actually managed to find myself a photo and, more than that, upload it.

Not as stupid as I thought I was !!!!! M

I look a lot like my new picture - an old bird :-P

Actually the bird has better legs than me ;-)

jax Report 22 May 2013 12:43

How can you get an idea what someone looks like, if they have never used a photo of themself?

I admit to using a couple of photos of me as a child/baby.....but I have changed a bit since then

CupCakes Report 22 May 2013 12:37

Don't know about others but the image / avatar sort of gives one a mental image about what they feel a person may look like. I think in pics.

SuffolkVera - just one of my usual phrases - applies to me as well.

There is nowt a queer as folks - I'm a moaning minnie myself at the mo.
Or as Janet S-Porter has just said on Loose Women "I'm an old relic"

Just life .......

Afternoon Sue, :-)
sadly I`m afraid it not just the words one uses, its some times down to the interpretation of those words by the reader.

SuffolkVera

SuffolkVera Report 22 May 2013 12:01

I wasn't going to post on here but feel I must.

NanaSue - I'm trying to give you the benefit of the doubt and hope that what you actually wrote was meant to come over differently, but I do resent being called an old moaner who is frightened of anything new. You don't know me but I can assure you that I am not.

I DO know how to add an avatar but have chosen not to because it is not important to me. I don't look for pictures. I look for board names and thread titles. I might add one at a later date but it will be my choice.

If you want people to lighten up a little on your threads, then you need to give a thought to the words you use.

That's all I intend to say on the subject.

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 22 May 2013 11:54

What does it matter anyway. Some of us want a piccie up, some of us don't . It's what is known as freedom of choice.

A very contraversial posting Nana sue.

Budgie Rustler Report 22 May 2013 11:33

There are, I`m betting a lot of people that haven`t a clue how to put a piccie on and are a little embarrassed to ask how to,

Think I may go back to being a Sock Puppet again... :-D :-D :-D

Mersey Report 22 May 2013 10:30

You either want one or you do not......simples :-D
