Got it in one.

I like Aldi and Lidl, but I find that it's not so much the Chavs that shop there, it's the immigrant workers - it's like a European convention!

Sharron, you said "other Chavs" - does that mean you are one? :-D

Before my daughter married and was living in London with her boyfriend she said she, and others like her were dinks. I had never heard of this but apparently it means double income no kids.

I think they make it up as they go along

Joeva,,

Chavs invented and labeled themselves as Chavs

Joeva

Joeva Report 14 Apr 2013 19:34

Anncardiff;

Chav is working class youth ! I am no longer youthful but still object to this label being applied to young people. Stereotyping people is against my beliefs !

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 14 Apr 2013 19:34

so I'm not one then - good!!!

Ann according to Oxford Dictionaries...

"a young lower-class person typified by brash and loutish behaviour and the wearing of (real or imitation) designer clothes"

eRRolSheep

eRRolSheep Report 14 Apr 2013 19:23

But the term chav is, in itself, derogatory and pejorative.

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 14 Apr 2013 19:20

tell me - what exactly is a chav?

I love Aldi and Lidl, but do most of my shopping in Tesco for convenience and to save time :-)

Joeva Report 14 Apr 2013 19:13

Well Erroll you did say 'They' which I understood was a judgement on chavs,!

A very wooly judgment to my mind. :-|

Asda nearest ,then Tesco, Aldi then Lidl... don't shop in the last 2 cos I aint a chav !

Edit..son worked in Asda on the George Clothing dept and the empty packets of things they found nicked and hidden in the changing rooms / under the clothes racks there was unbelievable .
The George dept was by the Security desk,so he would often chat to the lad who was about his age.
He'd stopped someone for nicking a Asda cheapy 90p toothbrush.
If your going to to do it FGS go for something a bit more up-range !!!!

Like Joeva, no Aldi or Lidl around here, so me & the other chavs shop at Tesco.

Mind you, bit awkward if you don't drive & work. There's a free bus - until 2:30 in the afternoon. :-|

Joeva

Joeva Report 14 Apr 2013 18:42

Oh dear, Errol, all chavs are thieves ? How judgemental you are . Shame on you.!

Joeva

Joeva Report 14 Apr 2013 18:26

Well Sharron, this chav hasn't got an Aldi or Lidyl within walking distance of at least 20 miles so I am relegated to Tescos ! :-D

eRRolSheep

eRRolSheep Report 14 Apr 2013 18:22

Sharron

Sharron Report 14 Apr 2013 18:17

I do most of my shopping in Aldi and Lidl but I do wonder why I don't see many other chavs in there.

Where do they do theirs?
