The pride in who owns a suggestion

I keep reading well meaning suggestion posts Then somebody suddenly pops up and declares it has already been suggested. Expecting the so called culprit to delete their post

Does it really matter if it is repeated.

Just asked my friend what he thinks - his comment was that most people would prefer to be seen as the owner of a thread. Nobody wants to be attached to a long line existing thread with several pages where their opinion fades away to oblivion as if what they have to say is of no consequence..

Good point - I can live with that

No one must be given any reason for feeling unequal to anyone else.

I try hard to be as wise as I can when posting, although some of my attempts are as substantial as candy floss.

For newer posters, you can't always know that a subject has been explored before. Most posters have a new angle on a subject - that's what keeps things fresh.

For myself ..
would prefer to contact GR for clarification on Community Boards posting procedures

I love my friends ,,

but would not want their opinion on this subject

It is about the suggestion board and not a request for history,

Does a suggestion board count in guidelines as if so I can pull at least 8 threads from the boards where the content is all on the same subject.

Nope I agree,,,,,,,,,it's not very welcoming for newbies to be pulled up when they may have no idea that the subject has already been raised.

And even if it has.........so what !

GR would probably only remove if it was pointed out to them........and personally I just couldn't be bothered. :-D

Joy Kentish Maid, Kay???? etc

Guidelines or no guidelines does it really matter is the question?

It is more about getting as many members as possible to contribute to the boards without fear of being slapped on the wrist like they are in school.

:-D :-D :-D

I love that self-deprecating remark, Dermot - as substantial as candy floss.

Your contributions always make me smile - and think. NanaSue is quite right about wrist slapping for pretty daft things. I say, NanaSue is quite right about wrist slapping for pretty daft things :-) :-)

Why assume that you are being told to delete?
Surely one is being given the opportunity to check out what has gone before so it can, hopefully, be refined, redesigned - moved on towards a successful result.

If something is worth commenting on once, it is worth commenting on twice and three times and four times.

Everything comes round again. Nothing is new under the sun. Nothing.

I posted something early yesterday. Nobody was interested. Later on in the day (about 6 hours later) someone posted thread about same thing. I could have gone off on one as I need to keep my threads and posts to a maximum to get the Genes prize for boring the pants off everybody. But I didn't, second and later thread got more response but I was happy that people were talking about something that I was also interested in. :-) :-)
