	He is only retiring as the manager, he is to become a director and be an ambassador for the club.
	Researching: I am researching the Wotherspoon family from the Old/New Monkland areas of Scotland, some moved to the Leslie and Kelty areas of Fife and I'm having problems linking the Wotherspoon's from Leslie and the Wotherspoon's from Kelty. I am also researching the Clusker family from Co. Meath in Ireland who moved to West Lothian and from there to Fife............"Vita non est vivere sed valere vita est"

	Ann, I expect it was the chewing gum that did it. :-D :-D, I wonder if he will take his Famous "Hair Drier" with him? or leave it for the next Manager to use. good luck to him ,he deserves a decent retirement,He served the club well,lets hope they give him a decent send off.M.

	Have not been on for a long, long time , but had to pay my respects when i saw this shock announcement. ALEX FERGUSON retiring!! never !! (thought he would be there for ever ( like the queen , who will replace him?) What a great manager!! what a loss to Manchester United!. I,m worried about Manchester United now. :-S Here,s to all the good winning times, and hope he enjoys a long and happy retirement. Thank you Sir Alex. I,m also a Wolves fan and hope his son takes over them , need someone like his father . fingers crossed!!. Manchester United fan. Flo ;-)

	I am broken hearted but as long there is a chance that the lovely Jose Mourinho will take over I don't mind. It had to come one day but he is a great, grumpy old legend who has devoted his life to this club. He will be missed. <3

Sir Alex Ferguson is the longest serving manager of Manchester United, overtaking Sir Matt Busby's record on 19 December 2010, and the longest serving of all current League managers. He has won many awards and holds many records including winning Manager of the Year most times in British football history.
