If we are given the opportunity to vote, could we please decide also about our future involvement in the Eurovision Song Contest?

Unfortunately it is written into the Eurovision constitution that the UK shall be in the song contest final in perpetuity.

At least we don't have to worry about hosting it anymore. ;-)

Didn't even realise that UK was in it any more. Thought it was just Ireland and the Eastern European countries that no one has ever heard of. :-S

*Ahem John, I do believe that most people 'have heard of' Ireland? Oscar Wilde, Daniel O'Donnell, Dicky Rock, George Bernard Shaw, Maeve Binchy, Dermot and Me amongst many more :-D

Of course if the UK goes the way of Jugoslavia England may end up getting douze points from IoM, IoW, Jersey, Guensey and maybe even a couple from Scotland and Wales.

It's a once a year, over the top, cheesy extravaganza, and even though I get very cross about the voting, I love to watch it! :-D

If Bonny does not win tomorrow, my vote is for out of EU song contest immediately. We have thrown our greatest artists at this competition - what respect did they show Englebert?
