Prince Philip has today left hospital earlier than expected, 11 days after he was admitted for exploratory abdominal surgery.

With a wide grin on his face, the 92-year-old Duke of Edinburgh looked well as he walked unaided out of the London Clinic this morning.

He shook hands with staff and waved jovially to the waiting press before being driven away to be reunited with the Queen -- three days before he was due to be discharged.

I know some people feel there is too much intrusion in their private lives but ............

However, I have to admit I'm one who likes to read every snippet about them

:-D

Brilliant news:))

I love him, a real character who stands firmly beside the Queen and sometimes says things out loud that some of us are thinking ;-)

He was looking well . not as drawn as he looked at the garden party the day before he went into hospital

One can only speculate on what is wrong but can be well off course but if what I suspect then I hope he will do well and they have sorted the problem

92 though is a good age and health problems do kick in in the twilight years.

Good to see Prince Philip going home again, hope he does as he's told and gives himself time to recuperate.

I wondered if he had lost a little weight, that jacket he wore looked a bit big on the shoulders.

He does well for his age tho, looks much younger than 92, I hope he sees several more birthdays yet.

He is recuperating by joining Genes chat and contributing to some of the fun threads and one or two of the political stories in the next couple of months before he has to go back to work (light duties).

And anyone who disagrees with his views and causes any angst will be thrown in the Tower :-( We have been warned.
