A few weeks back there was thread on the Find Ancestors board where someone was looking for info for family in NZ.

I directed the poster to another site, to ask for help with NZ probate records.

A few days later, the probate request duly apeared on the other forum.
Since then, someone in NZ went to the trouble to obtain copies of the docs from the library, and scanned them as requested
The poster has not responded to messages on the other forum and has also deleted the original thread from this one.?
I have no idea who it was and I don't think they know that the requested info is available. :-S :-S

Why are threads vanishing off the boards??
Could it be T&C because I posted a link to another site, or did the OP delete it??

I would guess the OP has deleted the thread or maybe left the site for whatever reason.

Annoying when fellow members have gone to a lot of trouble to help, but there may well be a good reason for it.

I hope they do see the info somehow.

I have the opposite in 'my threads' I have several to which I have never nor would ever contribute, gawd knows how that happens

And when you do delete your contribution from a thread (for whatever reason) the bleedin' thread stays there.
