An excellent name chosen for new Forth Road Bridge

The new bridge to be built across the Firth of Forth is to be called the Queensferry Crossing.

I think that is quite appropriate as it more or less runs between North Queensferry and South Queensferry - what do you think ?

OFITG, as StaffyKnot said, I was going to post but decided not to when I read the question was aimed at Scot's

I think the new name is far better than the old Forth road bridge and as you say
Queensferry Crossing is more appropriate,

By the way I always enjoyed my trips to Scotland both as a HGV driver and recreational but not been up north for abt 18 months now and my last trip was to visit a mate who lives on his yacht which is at Port Edgar Marina Queensferry

I used to regularly catch the ferry from North Queensferry to South Queensferry and would have quite a few ;-) between The Hawes Inn and The Stags Head - then last ferry back over the water for a lock in at The Albert Hotel ;-)

Surely the trend these days is to name such infrastructure after local celebrities. It should be the Alex Salmond Bridge.

Queen Margaret Bridge.

At last a sensible name though calling it the Forth Road Bridge was just differentiating it from the Forth Bridge. Still as it runs between N. & S. Queensferry an appropriate name. I remember when the first Road Bridge was built, now I'm showing my age.....abt 1960's

Should Andy win Wimbledon then it must be renamed "The Andy Murray Bridge".

KenSE - who is Alex Salmond ;-)

Robert - Queen Margaret Bridge would have been an appopriate choice as some local historians say that Queensferry takes its name from Saint Margaret who travelled regularly from Dunfermline to Edinburgh from there.
