Have you heard of Kathrine Switzer?

I had not, until I saw this........

How a radical incident changed Kathrine Switzer's life.

The look on that official's face!!!!!!!!!!

Nolls from Harrogate

Wow! Never heard of that didn't realise the marathon was for men only back then.. Good for her! Just shows what one person can do! :-D

LadyScozz Report 1 Jul 2013 08:48

I didn't either Nolls. A brave thing for a woman to do back then.

I was shocked at the expression on the official's face....... "I'll sort this ***** out" was obvious!

As the article says, she's still running in marathons, and she's 66!

LadyScozz Report 1 Jul 2013 12:03

nudging, by changing the title

Mauatthecoast Report 1 Jul 2013 12:05

An inspiration indeed ....and now at 66 :-D

Bobtanian Report 1 Jul 2013 14:17

LadyScozz Report 1 Jul 2013 16:44

I googled & found lots more.

Mauatthecoast Report 1 Jul 2013 18:48

Thanks for the link Scozz.

The suffragettes would be so proud of Kathrine, as are we :-)

Bobtanian Report 4 Jul 2013 11:25

Ah! well, the pun fell flat!!

LadyScozz Report 4 Jul 2013 12:05

pun? Snickers?

An ad on tv with women running? eating/wearing (s)nickers?

I don't watch much tv, and maybe it's a UK ad?

Bobtanian Report 4 Jul 2013 13:31

" women running in Marathons"

Marathon was the previous name to Snickers"
