Has the census been taken of four tree's. When you clicked on a relative, you would get matches in other tree's and what census they are in. Got in touch with Genes they said they don't do matching records any more. I am a Platinum member, what do we pay our monies for. Sue

That's interesting, hadn't noticed that.

On the tree view the star on the names only lead to tree matches, not any other record. Ho Hum.

You can still search for all records from any other page meaning that the facility hasn't been withdrawn. Using the 'Advanced Search' you're more likely to be able to filter to get the correct ones.

I had noticed this too.

The "matches in other trees" and "matches in census" were one of the best features in GRU. For me the tree matches in particular.

Since the great change 2011/2012 all that has happened with GRU has been a never ending dumbing down of core functionality, e.g.

photos have disappeared from trees (except in edit mode what use is that ? )
the mapping function has gone despite being a top feature when it came in
printing function has been abandoned
crummy color scheme and weird fonts( which fortunately can easily be over ridden using a bit of CSS or a gadget such as Stylish )
matches disappearing from tree diagram

Not to mention a list of promises not kept as long as a branch.

:-( :-( :-(

I too had wondered why this function had been removed

Cannot for the life of me see why though .... it does seem illogical

Well if this is the case then I will be down grading next time subs come up. Might even go over to Ancestory. They don't seem bothered has long as they get our monies. I will check my photo's. I have spend hours going around graveyards. Wont be a happy bunny if they have gone. This will mean all the census added to person are no longer there.I will look at this one

I agree with all the comments made so far. The "matches" were one of the best features in GRU, just doesn't make sense, When I emailed GRU about the change, got a very short message. As with other members the tree and census matches were very useful.

Will have to check on the pictures and printing issue

Thinking about changing to ancestry
