I haven't seen anything at all about the games, except when I search the computer.

Annoying!

I'll see if the relay is on YouTube...... must see Chris Hoy. Believe it or not, he's a distant cousin of mine. Brag Brag Brag lolol

Edit: found him ~ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KMWfeY4aGgk

The start of the relay looked quite good with Chris Hoy and Alan Wells and of course the Pipe Band although I agree with you that it should have started in Glasgow.

Morning to everyone, the weather down here in Kent is rapidly turning a lot cooler but still not resorted to turning my central heating on.

On another note, I was disappointed to read that today the Queen will start the Baton Relay for next years Commonwealth Games, which are being held in Glasgow, from Buckingham Palace in London. I would have preferred to have seen her start this from somewhere in Glasgow, like say George Square.

The baton relay which will visit all the competing countries and territories will take 288 days to complete - it starts from Buckingham Palace in London later this morning.

GL,

I am sure Glasgow will flourish at the Games.

I remember my days at Ibrox and Celtic Park and the atmosphere at both grounds. Hopefully the atmosphere at the Games will be just as electric.

I'm glad that at long last Bobby is getting a facelift :-)

Work has started to restore the nose on one of Edinburgh's most famous public statues.

The dark colour on Greyfriars Bobby's snout had been worn off by people rubbing the nose "for luck".

Restoration specialists Powderhall Bronze have been commissioned to clean, re-patinate and wax the affected area.

Morning All,
How's everyone doing?
What a beautiful weekend we have had.
Bank Holiday Monday, and the sun is shining again!
Me and my youngest have been on our own since Saturday morning, as the rest of the family are in London ( NFL Webley) and don't get back until later tonight.
What shall we do today? Any ideas?

As I say Nolls, that was the Posh one. Mind you a lot of Boroughmuir FPs went there, so I felt quite at home.

Then they took me away for two years, (to do my National Service)
