My ideal home was the one l was initially brought up in, detached, loads of garden, orchard, kennels for my mum to breed her dogs, goats, chickens, detached massive garage, drive way to the garage and space for 2 - 3 cars....beautiful:)
Had always so wanted to be able to buy it....been there a few times too and went back in time:)....sadly that has all been ruined by our families history so it does'nt mean the same anymore:(

When we decided to move from Sussex, l had never dreamed of getting a house like the one we are in now, gorgeous and the area etc etc....but now we're moving again and l can't wait...its got wild life on 2 sides and a river, detached, no stairs, perfect for our twilight years too, downsized but we'll get used to that....met the neighbours and they are great:)

So yep my idea's have changed, but as you get older you realise what is sensible rather than what you want, unless you can afford whatever you want!!

Rest of your lives of happy days to look forward to Uzzi, take care:)
Edit....2 - 3 cars, not 2 0 3 cars ...lol

It has changed very much Uzzi !!

I always imagined myself living in a lovely country house with large garden, perhaps an orchard, lots of trees and greenery around me, with no road/traffic noise and the nearest neighbour a mile or so away.

As I've got older I realise that idea is probably impractical. Realistically I should be close to a town or actually in a village, and in a bungalow, ie no stairs. The nearest shop/s and at least one pub/restaurant shouldn't be too far away, nor should the doctor/pharmacy be far .
If I am unable to drive in my mature years, then I need to be within walking distance of all those things, and it would be handy to have at least one neighbour fairly close...just in case of energencies .

All in all, quite the opposite from my ideal last home way out in the countryside. :-0

The house we live in as we have been here for 38 years and it is full of memories for us......................but transported magically 2 miles away to the place I was born.

We would be surrounded by fields and woods with an enormous garden full of visiting wildlife.

That would be pure bliss :-D :-D

I always wanted something that was unique, preferably self designed. In acres of grounds with the sea lapping at the edges. Far enough for neighbours not to intrude on me nor me on them. As life took it tolls on me I opted for 1 floor mind I wouldn´t have said no to 2 or 3 if there was room for a lift.
What I have as my last home is a semi on a community close to neighbours and amenities with the docs and vets around the corner and I have realised that although we bought it with Mum in mind it is also perfect for us.
We also have the added flat upstairs for income in our twilight years.

What would be your perfect house ? and has it changed as you got older
