Andysmum Report 23 Jul 2013 22:17

Since DNA evidence became available, a lot of unsolved cases have been re-opened. I think quite a lot have been solved, although they don't all make the headlines.

~Lynda~ Report 23 Jul 2013 22:14

There are a good few murders that have been solved years later Linda, not Policeman related, I don't think they ever give up, in trying to solve murders, nor should they.

Linda Report 23 Jul 2013 21:54

I remember it , but my dad had died the month before so maybe that's why. So glad that they have got someone for it wonder if it was not a policeman though would they have given up a long time ago

~Lynda~ Report 23 Jul 2013 20:58

I find it hard to believe this dreadful murder was nearly 30 years ago, and how I can remember that night so well :-(

eRRolSheep Report 23 Jul 2013 20:35

Let us just permit the legal system to do its job

~Lynda~ Report 23 Jul 2013 19:50

It could be that there is new evidence or DNA GB

GlitterBaby Report 23 Jul 2013 19:42

But how have the Poilce found some one to charge after all this time

supercrutch Report 23 Jul 2013 19:04

I agree with the 'at last'.

An horrific crime!

At last . Maybe some justice for PC Blakelock's family

~Lynda~ Report 23 Jul 2013 16:32

I heard yesterday that there was someone in custody for this murder, in fact I think there was more than one? Just shows that after nearly 30 years, crimes aren't just forgotten. I vividly remember the riots at Broadwater Farm, just dreadful :-(

OneFootInTheGrave Report 23 Jul 2013 15:47

Nicholas Jacobs has been charged with the murder of PC Keith Blakelock at Broadwater Farm, London, in 1985.

Mr Jacobs is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, the Crown Prosecution Service said.
