Well?

This has now been going on for five days.
At times the site has been better today - and at times worse. I am still getting "signed out".

Yesterday GR said...

"We would like to apologise again for the current site performance. We know that it is running slowly for some of our members. The problem occurred since we released improvements to the site on Monday. Since then our development team have been working tirelessly to fix the issue, but today we have taken to decision to roll back the changes we made one by one so that we can identify what exactly is causing the site to be slow. We are really sorry for any inconvenience caused and will keep you updated with our progress."

Why did it take them four days to make the decision to roll back the changes?

That is usually pretty high on the list of priorities in finding out a problem with a website!

Four days? Crazy!

We were told that we would be updated as to progress.

As there has been no update can we also assume that there has been no progress?

They once gave me three months for free when I really had a moan back up with stats. Let's see, that must have been worth something less than a fiver. Thrilling.

The usual industry sources do not give GRu much ad revenue from Google. Given that it is the various connections to GoogleAds that are the root most of the performance problems they should consider no ads at all and bump up the subs to, say, £ 5 month basic (paid monthly via PayPal). The site would run a lot better and suffer a lot less churn.

Too much ? Well Last.FM radio charges £ 3 / month and I rarely moan about that.

What happens at the moment is that they sign up some young Gerund for a year who either tires of the whole affair or runs off to ANOTHER SITE.

I agree Errol, but when you think about it we often pay for services that are not up to scratch.

I don't think GenesReunite could care less that we continually have connection problems on this site, they have had our money so we can all bugger off :-| :-| :-|

No, not on PAYG on Sky.

I have just been "signed out" for the third time this evening.

I am using a capped internet connection tonight - others may use it all the time if they use pay as you go dongles or cards in tablets.

This is COSTING ME MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IT COULD BE COSTING YOU MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You have paid for a service you are not receiving - up front.

You are also paying money out because of the inadequacies of this site if you are using PAYG.

I find it quite amusing really, Brightsolid publishing who also run Scotlandspeople without any problems allow this site to have so many problems.

A company like Brightsolid you would have thought reading their self praises on their site, would make sure that Genesreunited would have the technical knowhow to make sure the site runs without so many problems, or at the very lest employ some technicians who knew what they are doing.

They could always ask the techie guys at Ancestry for help :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D
