For the past couple of weeks my son has been working hard on his flat to partition off part of his lounge to make a second bedroom. It's nearly finished now and this weekend he and his friends will be moving his girlfriend's things to the flat and her little boy's bed and toys into the new bedroom.

They are going to try living together! It's a big step especially for my son who is a bit like me and likes his own space but they have decorated the lounge and the bedroom and are moving furniture about to make the place their own rather than his own so I hope it all works out for them.

The little boy has settled down well in his new school (more about that when I talk with N. as there was a meeting recently with the governors about the letter of complaint she wrote) and I am sure he will be fine in his new home as he gets on well with my son. He goes to his daddy's alternate weekends and overnight some nights during the week so my son and N. will have some time to themselves as well.

I will be going round soon to have a look at the decorating. My Dad would be proud of his efforts. Shame he isn't still around to advise, he was a dab hand and decorating and carpentry etc. G. and his friend made a good job of the partitioning which was approved by the Housing Association as G. and N. couldn't find a suitable exchange. Gone are the days where the councils and H.A.s found a new place for you. How lucky I was when I wanted to move, but the rules are different now.

Wishing you happiness and contentment G, N. and M. as you start this next phase of your lives, and don't forget I want a grandchild of my own before too long, altho I love little M. a little granddaughter would be lovely.
