Neglected Pensioner In Sweated Labour Scandal

Sharron Report 24 Sep 2013 19:30

Fred and his mate brought in a lot of tiny sloes on Saturday. They were about the size of deadly nightshade berries but the last lot didn't kill us so I thought they would be fine for sloe gin.

Fine to use but mighty tedious to prick so there was only one thing to do.

I was going to go out so I left Fred to prick them.

He has a board with three spikes through it which will hold a knife so I used the table knife with the end broken off that I knew would come in handy one day.

He was able to slash them safely on the broken bit and put them in the jar, all hundred million of them, and had nearly finished when his mate arrived.

The sloes are in the jar, bathing in gin and Fred is sleeping off his exertions. I bet he wishes it was the other way round!

Has any one else noticed that there are masses of sloes around this year ....

and the holly bushes are covered in green berries ....

Is this a sign of a hard winter, I wonder
