Yes it pays to shop around, and if you can get to deal with the insurance firm direct instead of a go between (Car Insurance Broker) even better.

Mind you, you still have to have your wits about you, cutting out the middle mans cost and dealing direct with Insurance company itself. :-D

Depends on so many things Budgie - I altered nothing from the AA one - so with one extra, was still cheaper.

It still helps to shop around for whatever it is.

Yep Chris, PO dearer than her indoor`s policy .

I used identical info and the outcome was, PO was a lot dearer.
For your reference, we did have several other things (Optional extras) included in the policy that are not in the PO`s "Standard policy"....
If you do the PO one on line, you should take note of their list and prices of the "Optional" extras . :-)

Ours was £92 cheaper with P.Office - did not compromise on policy at all.

You can do it on line or with a human (I did- I like to ask questions) but have to download policy documents, easy.

you can do it on line Matey.. just done the other half's and for the same coverage they are over £100 dearer.
Looks as though it depends on what kind of cover (options) you want or don't want included within the policy.

Merlin they guarantee to be at least £50 cheaper and ours was more than that.

Reading policy appears to be Liverpool and Victoria, so that's OK as far as I am concerned.

DT - have insured with them - all as previous cover and a lot, lot cheaper. OH is really pleased.

We also have our contents insurance (separate from Buildings) and were asked to download the policy documents from their site (we'd already registered because of the car insurance)
