Thanks Elizabeth.

More pics arrived yesterday. Her little eyes still look very puffy but she seems to be doing ok and they will be going home today. I am wondering how the dogs will cope, Mommy has a female boxer who was all hers until S. moved in, and then he got a Siberian husky pup who is now about 1 yr old, and he was spoiled rotten so I hope he doesn't get jealous and cause problems.

Thanks folks, there was another pic on fb in the wee small hours of yesterday so I showed that to o.h. before he went to work. I got home yesterday afternoon from having my hair cut to find o.h. on skype and talking to Mom and Dad (will be strange to have a Mommy in the family not a Mummy) and I saw a pic of Abbey. They are keeping the family in till end of the week as baby is a bit small, seems they have their own little room to be in and lots of visitors popping in to visit. It was good to see Daddy and Abbey but Mommy kept hidden cos she was in her dressing gown she said, lol

No doubt we will see her often as time goes by, on skype, so we can see how fast she grows. Shame we didn't have the opportunity to do that with the other baby granddaughter but we know her well enough now and do see her and her little brother every so often altho it will be a longer trip to visit now they have moved nearer London and of course, we can see them on skype too now.

Yes, time enough this year for my son and his gf to surprise me but I think he will wait a little longer to make sure his new job is permanent. He is going for an interview within his place of work for a different, permanent job so is busy filling the application form in and getting ready for the interview as they approoached him and asked if he would be interested. His current job is only temporary till May.

Congratulations Liz and family.

One little story for you Thelma decided that her own 2 children would never make her a Gran as they were getting older so the just being a step granny was okay. Dad died in 2006, Thelma had her 1st grandchild a year later and now has 5 grandchildren from her own children .

It´s never too late.

Congrats Granny Liz <3

I'll never be a granny, but we have lots of nieces & nephews (OH has nine, I have 10) who are now giving us great-nieces & nephews.

A new great-niece arrived on 12 January, OH's nephew & partner. We're now "greats" to seven!

Yesterday afternoon o.h.'s son's gf gave birth to their baby daughter. They live in New York so we won't see much of her yet except in pictures and on skype. They have arranged to skype everyone on Thursday pm so luckily o.h. can get in on that with his work ipad as he will be at home.

She weighed 6lb 3 oz so tiny compared to her cousins over here when they were born and she has my late daughter's middle name as her middle name, not intentionally, just one of their choices. Her first Christian name is Abbey. She is a sweet little thing, photos on facebook when very new and crinkly, bless her.

I was getting worried she would be really late (she was due last Weds) and turn up on my late daughter's birthday at the end of the month, or that they would chose her name as o.h.'s son doesn't really know about my Zoe but I am ok with the middle name, Alexandra, being the same.

Last year my nephew's gf had a baby boy on the anniversary of my daughter's death which was difficult for me.

O.h. doesn't seem as excited as I expected he would, perhaps he will feel more excited when he sees the pics on skype and talks to the couple.

That's four 'step' grandkids I have now, hope my son will get a move on and give me one or more to continue our family name. His gf's little boy is nearly 6 and then the two in UK are 3 and nearly 1 and now Abbey.
