I knew it!

Saturday 9.00pm here, and it's raining! :-P

More rain (and strong winds) expected tomorrow.

Tomorrow I won't be walking on the beach with an umbrella, don't fancy doing a Mary Poppins over the Pacific.... there are sharks out there :-(

I had five injections into my wrist for Arthritis, it was done by my GP and did not hurt one bit, blissful pain relief <3 for Valentines Day....

LadyScozz Report 14 Feb 2014 12:16

I had some liquid anasthetic tonight, a bit more than usual :-D

My hip doesn't hurt at all now.

:-D

I have plans for a walk on the beach on Sunday afternoon............. either my hip will act up again, or it will rain.

Ah well........ I can limp along the beach with an umbrella.

I have never had any nasty after effects even when i have had the injections in my hip, hope you feel better soon.. :o)
The anesthetic was probably one of those that lasts for 24 hours and that is why your hip feels numb still...

Last night wasn't pleasant.

I went to bed early, probably got to sleep before 10pm

I woke up at 2am feeling awful. Difficult to explain, but it felt like I had "hot spots" - in the wonky hip, middle of my chest, down my arms & legs. It was nasty.

OH eventually slept in the spare bed. I was awake until 4am, slept until 10 this morning.

I had breakfast and took an anti-inflammatory, it's taken ages to kick in... it's now 3pm and I'm feeling a bit better, but my hip is sort of numb.

How long before I'm dancing?

:-D

Glad it's all over, you are supposed to rest for at least one day afterwards but then you should start to feel the benefit and feel better in yourself and the bursitis should go down.

well done

the anasthetic has worn off.

A dull ache in the hip that is annoying (not painful).

The doc said I had "chronic bursitis" ~ I'm hoping one cortisone injection will fix that & also help the torn ligaments; if not, I'm not scared to have another jab.

it's nearly 9pm, I'm having an early night.

Scozz

Hope the cortisone has worked its magic.

I had one into my wrist back in the 60s, before I married and left England .................. I remember the injection hurt (no anaesthetic :-) ), but the relief afterwards was fantastic!

LadyScozz

LadyScozz Report 13 Feb 2014 02:16

Just got home from getting the jab.

The worst part was getting the local anasthetic!

The 2nd worst part was listening to the doctor explaining what he was doing......... I'll just jab into this bit to make it bleed (in doctor words). Sometimes they give us too much information.

I'm not in pain, not sure yet if the cortisone has worked, or it's because of the anasthetic.

I was warned I might feel "not so good" when the anasthetic wears off, if so I can take some anti-inflammatories.

Fingers crossed (I'll wait until tomorrow before I try crossing my legs :-) )

:-D

I have had the injections in my shoulder, elbow and hand. It was only the ones in my hand that hurt, but is soon over with and helps so much it is worth it.
I am panicking about having my back tooth out on Tuesday. I am a softie when it comes to dentists.

It is a strong possibility that I will be offered them for my dodgy knee :-( :-( :-(. Still I will grin and bear it if it takes away this awful pain I have at the moment

LadyScozz Report 7 Feb 2014 21:33

I'm not looking forward to the jab, but looking forward to afterwards!

It will be wonderful to walk without being in pain.

i have had lots of cortisone injections in my hands for my arthritis, they do hurt! but the relief a few days afterwards is well worth it.. you can only have so many and then you have to have joint replacement surgery.
It may not be as painful in your hip as your hand and i do think it is better done by a specialist than a GP as they know exactly where to inject the fluid, it's best done into the joint directly , that is why it hurts..

best of luck , i am sure it will help.. :-)

Your various ailments remind me of this :-D :-D :-D

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall,
All the king's horses and all the king's men,
Couldn't put Humpty together again.

This is Stage One.

Hopefully the painful hip will be OK, and take my mind off the wonky back.

I have a disc that has calcified, but I'd rather not mess about with my spine.

I also have to see a physiotherapist because of a couple of torn ligaments, the xrays show a "hole" in one of them.

No wonder everything hurts.

:-(

My poor excuse for getting fat & flabby :-0

OneFootInTheGrave

OneFootInTheGrave Report 7 Feb 2014 10:53

I have had cortisone injections for a prolapsed disc and a frozen shoulder and these were administered by my doctor in his surgery, they were not painful and I had no bad reaction to them.

I,ve had them in my wonky shoulder a few time,s they did not hurt well just a little they use a fine needle . they do hurt a bit for a couple of days after, then all is well you will feel like a spring chicken . good luck .x

LadyScozz

LadyScozz Report 7 Feb 2014 10:34

I have to have one next week. :-(

On my wonky hip.

It will be "image controlled", using an ultrasound.... and I'm thinking of a great big needle.

Has anyone had this done?

What should I expect? I'm thinking i shouldn't wear mascara in case it ends up all over my face.

:-(
