Mersey - it doesn't protect, unless it's a cricket box, it's just there for comfort, instead of wearing underpants, according to my OH! I threw his out long ago - he doesn't need protection now! :-D :-D ;-)

My OH once needed one 'cos he played a lot of football. I thought I'd give him one for a Christmas present. I went into the sport's shop -
"i'd like a jock strap for my husband, please"
Assistant, trying to keep a straight face - "What size?"
"Er...... I think he's about a medium......or, maybe large, it does seem large when i put it in the wash......"

I'm not kidding - and he often uses this as an anecdote! :-D :-D
