May your blessings outnumber the shamrocks that grow, and may trouble avoid you
wherever you go.

Happy St Patrick's Day to all

It's o.h.'s little grandson's 1st birthday today, we will be going to his birthday party with the other grandparents next Saturday, staying over near to Chelmsford on Friday and Saturday night so we don't have to do a lot of driving on the day. He's a bonny little lad, might just be walking now as he was on the way when we saw him early in Feb. It will no doubt be chaotic with 3 and a half sets of grandparents due to divorces, and a very lively 3 yr old granddaughter who will get overexcited but nice to see them all again (except o.h.'s ex wife and her new hubby - she loves to take charge)

Strange that the English celebrate St George who wasn't English,

And the Irish celebrate St Patrick who was English.

Happy St Patrick's Day to all, hope the luck of the Irish stays with you always.

I don't think the luck of the Irish befell the louts bedecked in "stout" hats and brandishing glasses of aforementioned stout who were arrested in town on Saturday night for being drunk and disorderly.

For many English it merely seems to be an excuse to go out and drink copious amounts. Half of them probably don't even know where the place is and probably think the Partition act is something they do with the curtains in a morning.

EDIT: assuming they are familiar with the alien concept of "morning"

Well, it wasn't exactly moving at a gallop anyway - ten posts so that's about one an hour.

As a true Irish woman with ancestors going back to the courts of King Malachy ( but born in Derby by a fluke! lol) I wish to say thank you so much for the lovely wishes. I would have been here yesterday but got stuck in my glass of Baileys and my green hat fell over my eyes so was unable to post. And fervent thanks also for nobody calling it Paddy's Day :-D :-D <3
