My grandfather William Thompsett was born in 1904 and died 1959.He died the same year I was born.He was married to Ellen, (maiden name Moore), and had 2 children with her.One was called Keith,(my dad),and the other Kay his sister.William remarried a lady called Winifred Kent and they had 2 children together, Jimmy and Ruth.I 2ould have to see a photo of my grandfather William, so if anyone can help it would make my day .

Was Kent Winifred's name by a previous marriage?

I can find births for Ruth and possibly Jimmy, if he was known by his middle name (first name Benjamin?), in the late 1940s, followed by the marriage of the parents in 1954.

Looks like Winifred may have been born Dorothy W Lee, and married a William H Kent in 1937.

If I have the right marriage in 1954, it looks like she assumed the surname Thompsett prior to the actual marriage, as that and Lee are given as her surnames in 1954.

I've tried 'search trees' on this site, but can't find anyone with Jimmy or Ruth in their tree (if they were born late 40s and I have the right births).

I was hoping if you could find them or their descendants, they might be able to help you.

Yes Kent was Winifreds married name from her first husband.Yes all the information you have given is correct.I think Benjamin must have been her sons first name I have researched it myself.

I have sent you a pm, as I think I found a likely marriage for Ruth, and two possible children, one of whom looks to have been a member of this site.

You could try contacting him via this site, though as no other close members of the family show up as being on his tree, he may not be an active member of the site.
