Dear All

Hello


Midsummers day is also known as St John's the Baptist's Day
as it was absorbed into the Christian calendar.

Around Northern Europe, celebrations take place around the 24 June.

Fairs, picnics and various activities take place.
Bonfires and lighting candles at night just after watching the sunset is popular.


It is a time for people to be together and relish the summer.

It is often referred to as a magical time and was used as the basis for
William Shakespeare's "A Midsummers Night Dream".


May a little midsummer magic be with you.

I'm hoping for a little midsummer's magic on Friday. My hubby has to see the surgeon after the removal of a tumour and the kidney to which it was attached. We want to hear the magic words telling us he's cured.

Thank you, DetEcTive, we've just had the best news. Hubby's had the all clear, the surgeon is confident he's got all the nasty stuff and there's no sign of anything else so he doesn't need to see him again. After months of worry the relief is indescribable. Now, where's that red wine I've been saving............
