GP, a great day then . :-D

IGP, it's a good job that she didn't spoil the whole day for you. :-(

The food was on our plates when it started to rain slightly so we ate indoors. It's bucketing down now and family gone home. <3 :-D

Yes GP,

I like the Waterfront, a business which has been run by the same Family for many years. I used to go there for our takeaway and if the had got any unusual fish off the boats they used to offer me some to try.

Just came back from a lunch treat at a village pub.

Daughter in Law had booked in advance for 1:30. At 1:45 we tried to get someone to take our order, at which point the young girl in charge of the restaurant refused and said someone would be back to us after 2:00, the time they had in their diary. When queried she insisted we had the time wrong and they could not possibly be wrong.

By this time the two grandchildren had been sitting patiently for nearly half an hour, and when grandad pointed out this wasn't really on, if only for them, she proceeded to argue the toss at which point we suggested she had better get the manager.

The pub manager did sort things out and we had our food at 2:05, but all she had needed to do was to apologise for the booking mix up, promise to get the food to us as soon as she could and that would have been the end of it.

Apart from that it was a lovely lunch.

I hope everyone's child enjoys the afternoon (and evening, in case I don't get back on today). That covers all of us. <3 :-D

JoyLouise Report 19 Jun 2016 13:50

Robert, you must have been really young. I can't imagine how your mother felt.

It's more than 30 years since my Dad died and when my Mum died more than 10 years ago I realised how awful it is for very young children who lose both parents early on in life. <3 <3

AnnC, I am an orphan and have been for many years.

With that in mind, I hope every child who still has his/her parents makes the most of it today and on Mothers' Day. <3 <3 :-D :-D

Thinking of Mersey and Thor who have both sets of parents together this weekend. It's fantastic for them. <3 :-D
