A big 'Thank you' to everyone who responded to my post.
These two 'birthday boxes' are definitely there at this instant.
Several hours ago they were NOT visible.
I think FMP and GR just love to have fun with us!
It's very annoying, however, when trying to search ... and to find unannounced changes!

PS I receive numerous e-mail from FMP asking how I'm doing with my research etc.
How nice to know my only apparent option to advise them of my finds / success is via facebook and / or twitter.
I'm on neither and have no wish to be!
Too many sites relying on fb and T.
I find gmail intrusive enough!

Birth day/month and other member are there for me under 1939 tab.

Oddly, I didn't even know that the birth date (ex year) search options were there. Perhaps because I didn't know when those peoples birthdays were so wouldn't be using that criteria or maybe they weren't there?
I had a fun five minutes finding how many peopl shared my birthday though. Oh what an expensive time that could have been :-D

Just looked. On edit search there is:

Birth year (BOX)

Birth Day

(BOX) for day (BOX) for month

So they have been tinkering

If you still haven't sorted it, has FMP got their 'live chat' running this morning?

FMP has surely messed around with this register!
The option to include the day and month to aid one's search - there were two boxes for this data - has definitely been changed! Eliminated.
It just became more difficult to fine a person.
Notes at the bottom state you can include, say, 5 March as 0503. Where, however?
Anyone with the wherewithal please put me out of my misery.

I was positive I used this search at the weekend!!
I usually go in to search via that route, too.
Today I didn't.
Doh!
I know FMP like to play games ... and this was almost the last straw!

Found it - its on Search Census, land and substitutes rather than the dedicated 1939 Register.
You'd need to enter 1939 Exact for the When year to get mainly the 1939 results

Its towards the bottom of the Advance search form, or at least it was the other day

Added 2 mins later - you're right, its gone!

Am I going crazy?
I positively thought there was a line where the name of another member in a household could be noted while searching.
I can't see it now. Only one person's name at the top.
Am I mistaken ... or just going round the bend?
Answers on a postcard, please.
