Thought you were joking when you mentioned it before, Maggie. So long as you prepare it for a soft landing they will be good anywhere.

Happy days

The other three suet Pellets had gone when I got back in.

A friend lives on the 4th (top) floor of a block of flats.
He has two bird feeders with seed/nuts in, and gets plenty of birds - usually sparrows, robins and the odd tit!!

At the moment, there is scaffolding around the flats - so crows and starlings are taking advantage of the scaffold boards :-D

An up date on the clear view feeder. Excellent, although I've only had sparrows and a robin in there - as I know of. Suet capsules keep disappearing so obviously there is an early morning visitor ,probably of a bigger nature.

You hear a tapping on the window which tells you a bird is feeding., pecking at a fat ball hits against the back of the box which In turn taps your window, which is so nice.

Happy days

Stop press. Just put four suet pellets in the empty container. Straightaway a sparrow
Called and took one away. Thought they would be too big for its beak, but plainly not.

Maggie I would be worried about it falling off from several floors up as it's only held by suction cups! Would garden birds go to a box high up?

I wonder if this would work 4 stories up?

I didn't know about those but they sound lovely.

The birds sit in the bush two foot away from my front window and I don't think they can see through double glazing because they never seem to notice us.

We have a huge passion flower on the other side of the window and a squirrel came out of it this morning and tried to get up the window. That was a bit comical.

How lovely Harry, I am sure you will get many visitors as the westher gets colder, robins like mealworms so some of them in your window box might tempt them close

Enjoy your view

My granddaughter has one on her bedroom window and gets lots of different birds. They don't seem to care that it's 20' up.

Anyone any experience of same? I've just got one and suctioned it to the living room window, five days ago, about 6 feet off the ground.

Today I heard a tapping, just a sparrow. It was enjoying a fat ball which struck the back of the box which in turn tapped the window,
Super - 'from little acorns,,,,,,'

I believe robins are ground feeders so probably won't see him.

Happy days
