I live in Kent

Been through some health issues recently as folk may know that have made me quite insular and reluctant to venture too far afield

But my grandson who lives near Doncaster has a step daughter who has just had her 21st birthday
He wanted a family get together at a local restaurant for a family dinner

My granddaughter drove me and my step grandson up on Saturday to book in at a travel lodge for an overnight stay

He also arranged for an 8 seater minibus to pick us all up who were at the travel lodge and take to the restaurant and back again after

Soo it was a great family dinner for 20 plus family to celebrate Beth’s 21st

Was lovely too to be fussed and love you big Nan with hugs and kisses


Families come together in all sorts of ways through marriage etc but the important thing is its family no matter how it’s formed

I am very fortunate to have grt grandchildren who are in the family through various ways

It’s quite humbling for a self sufficient girl who thinks she is a loner and believes she is in control to then lose it when hubby passes

Family too worried how I would cope cos they knew me and OH were joined at the hip

But all of them are we need to know mum.nanny etc is coping so many messages contacts etc

And always invites to family events etc and when I can make it it’s huge hugs and love you’s

Made me realise there’s a big wide world still out there that I have withdrawn from without realising !

It’s very easy to become insular when circumstances make you have too !

I have started to try and get out of my bubble,unfortunately I got covid too from trying but you don’t have to let that stop you !

Matthew and Jane Elwood who had my great great grandfather Francis Edward Elwood baptised in 1807 at Horsham Sussex. There is no sign of Matthew or Jane from this date and my great great grandfather was brought up as Francis Edward Elwood MITCHELL
