If an MP has been expelled from a Political Party then surely they are no longer an MP? Can they just say as from now I am an Independent MP and will continue to serve my Constituency?

I thought they would have to put their name forward at the next election and be elected so they can serve? How can they suddenly be an Independent if noone has elected them? :-S :-S

They have been elected. Plenty of MPs have switched parties in the past, although most have not been expelled from the original party. Some have even formed a new party altogether, like the Lib/Dems, but they are still MPs.

Whether constituents who voted them in as a member of a particular party will vote for them at the next election is anybody's guess.
