Sayings and where they come from. like 2 half pennies drop faster than one penny, any others, my mum used to say that one and she was from Newcastle. :-D

My Dad had some really strange ones he was from North London and Mum in Law had even stranger ones (Bedfordshire born and bred). When she put something by for best she would say It's for High Days, Holidays and Bonfire nights

My Mum used to say High days and Holidays but not put Bonfire nights on the end.

My gran used to say 'Red shoes (or occasionally, 'fur coat'), no knickers'

If someone was tall, she'd say they had 'long bones'.
