This is what Hannah Hauxwell was living on in 1970.Does anyone remember the documentary Too long a Winter telling of Hannah,s life . in the Dales .One truly remarkable lady.. June xx

I doubt it! am trying to live on £2 for 2 weeks untill I get paid as travel costs have crippled me this month. Oh well I guess you just have to live to your means. although that is over £5 a week so if you have no rent or travel costs it could be done! I can make Spag bol for 3 - 4 people with less than £1.50 Wish I could remember where I put my savings book that would solve everything! lol

I saw an article reguarding Hannah Baz in the Yorkshire Post it sais she lives in Cotherstone spends her days sewing listening to her radio and playing her organ she has a few close friends and goes every year to The Horse Fair at Appleby.. June xx

When you look at Hannah June, she is a double for Jan's aunt Annie. They were all originally from Durham,right on the Yorkshire border.

She was always one for the outdoors, and tough as old boots, and learnt to play her mum's piano, which was the only thing of value in the croft.

Baz it isn,t all about money is it you can be just as happy been poor [not too poor mind] As very rich we didn,t have much but were happy always had and have animals can,t beat em can you.. June xx

Yes Joy Hannah is on more money now and i have seen some of the books, but if you have had to be careful old habits will die hard. June x

Watched the programmes read the books could'nt buy the T-shirt but thouroughly enjoyed it all. Hasn't she got a beautiful face. Bet her cheeks are all soft and squidgy like a lot of mature lady's LOVELY Clairexxx
