badger Report 28 Jun 2012 07:46

morning Brenda ,i had a call from the puter hospital last night to say that my puter was better ,and could come home ,so i will pick it up later this morning ,do a little shopping while out ,and then come home to rest up ,but at least i can move about with just a few twinges this morning.
Think i will check out facebook later on this afternoon ,seeing as genes is still sliding into oblivion, thank the good Lord i have my full tree safe on family search ,in case i lose it from here .
I wish i could remember the Site that Colin who left genes three years ago started, because i was starting to use that site ,but lost it when my old computer crashed ,and couldn't find it when i tried.
Weather ,as you know is again very iffy ,wet ,dull and coolish,i am wondering now ,if we are going to get a summer at all,or if we are going straight into Autumn lol.
Going to take the missus her cuppa up .and then chase the cat out for her morning exercise ,she won't want to go out in the wet ,so i may have to edge her out of the door ,very gently with my toe ,he he :-D.
catch you later all ,Fred.xxx

Morning all. as usual Fred you have amazed me with all your techno knowledge ,I would be lost dealing with all of that stuff.
But so pleased you can get it sorted, and like you said it will not cost yopu any more ,hope the dongle works out well too.Enjoy your walk round the Metro .
I am off to have lunch with some firends today ,we usually only meet up for birthdays but are having an extra meet up today ,as one lady lives in St Annes and had to come to town so we are meeting at lunch.
Hoping to get to Bury this week whatever the weather!! need to get a few birthday presents and cards and like some of the card stalls on the market.Would like to get some fish as well ,Tuna and seabass as we like them both but they are dear at the supermarkets.
Weather is dry but still very cloudy but not dark clouds yet!! hope it is dry while I am out I have trouble holding the umbrella and my stick ,
Over the last week I have noticed a bit of an improvement in my leg not every day and still not in the standing but the walking was bit better, So hope its a good sign that things will get better,
Better get on ,Have a good day Take care Brenda

badger Report 25 Jun 2012 09:24

Morning Brenda ,well here we are ,and i'm hoping for a better week after the end of the last one ,the end of the worst week for me for a long time ,culminating in my big h P computer being very unwell ,and now in Curry's computer hospital awaiting treatment :-(.
The sweetim.com bug that went in with the adhobe update caused more damage than i could repair, but luckily the insurance i took out will get the repair done free.
Got the t-mobile situation sorted via a mates t -mobile phone and me on to support ,where i asked for the stand alone dongle to be removed from the contract which only supports two sim cards ,the second the fella in Swindon put the third dongle on the account ,it went into meltdown and ,i think ,fried the sim card in the phone and ditto the dongle.
So ,i will go back down to the Metrocentre when i finish on here and send my contract bear in for repair it may be only the sim cards damaged ,but why the hell should i pay for them to be replaced when t mobile destroyed them :-|.
so hopefully ,they will be back before i go on holiday,up and running ,or or i will be demanding new ones :-|.
Might have a wander around down there too ,a long time since i have looked in the stores ,he he ,it's usually in ,and out ,because of the missus ,who is finding it harder and harder to walk any distance because of her breathing problems :-(.
she HAS to stay home today as i am expecting stuff from e -Bay in the post, but she is on her own 'puter ,doing her emails ,and playing games,so i will be off ,catch you later guys :-D <3 xxx

Evening all.weather was not that bad this afternoon after a very shaky start, big grey clouds ,damp but no rain but windy.after lunch we got some washing out and almost dry as it was dry but windy,
Hope your other cabbage survive Fred, and Hissy can get out .My sister said they had to drag their dog out for his walk yesterday. He would noot even go in the back yard to go to the toilet ,if you know what I mean.
My friend in Oz was not affected by the earthquake, but did feel it.
Going to have some strawberries now,,
Hva good weekend Take care Brenda

badger Report 23 Jun 2012 08:44

Morning to Dorothy in case she is looking in ,[got your email and picks and will reply later] and morning to Brenda from a veeeeery windy north east ,where it has been so windy overnight that one of my young cabbages has been snapped off at the stalk ,hmmmmm ,cabbage for dinner methinks :-).
Lucky that i have young winter plants in the greenhouse ,nearly ready ,so there will be one extra winter cabbage on the go as soon as i get them in.
And to think that six years ago ,me and the missus nearly moved to St Bees in Cumbria ,where the flooding is terrible,at least ,here we are on top of the valley ,overlooking the Tyne river ,i would rather put up with the wind than get flooded out every few months :-0 .
Poor Hissy won't even leave the house this morning ,hating it when it's at all windy ,never mind nearly a gale ,she is sitting at the patio window ,looking most woe begone :-).
Better go for now ,i am expecting T -Mobile to ring me up after the blasting i gave them over the phone and dongle ,i got the phone sorted by them yesterday ,and now await the call to get my contract dongle sorted ,with still a year to go on the contract i wan't a solution fast ,either get my sim card restored ,or a free replacement, the silly bu**er in Swinden ,blocked the dongle when he changed the I S P,when all i asked him to do was give me a pay as you go dongle ,until i got back to the house to retrieve the other one,but no ,he had to mess with my contract account and screw it all up ,why do some people never do as they are asked,i brought a stand alone dongle ,nothing to do with my other account :-| any way ,i hope to have it sorted shortly.
Back later as i ain't goin' no where in this wind and heavy rain, have a good weekend all no hill walking for me, brrrrrrrr. :-D xxx

Morning to all on the mid summers day ,he he ,that's it folks ,we are officially on the slide to winter , :-( .the question is ,where is the perishing summer ,or was the past two days ,it? :-|.
I was a bit put out when i went back to Morrison's to find they had no ,apple ,or plum trees left Brenda ,but then i syied something in the corner of the shelf ,looked one ,looked again and it WAS a fig tree,so i looked at the label to find it was an imported Turkish variety ,that is well hardy ,minus 10c ,and will stand up to 28c ,both well within uk tolerance ,so i have now a wannabe ,med' garden ,with med' herbs ,plants ,and even a few veggies that i found in Cyprus,so the fig tops it off .
So with the olive being the only tree that will have to sit in the greenhouse for the winter ,i am well sorted ,here Fred is now looking for fig recipes :-) because the fruits won't last long enough to dry for Christmas.
The barrels are now full to the brim with compost ,the tatties showing through, and the rest of the garden is full to the brim ,so now ,sigh ,it's time to start decorating yet again , :-( np peace for the wicked .lol.
Catch you later troops time for the dinner now ,and then we are off to the sons to deliver a parcel, Take care everyone :-D xxx

Morning folks, another early start today, washing done and ready to put out
,kicthen floor mopped and living room tided!!!.going to town to meet some friends, who i have not seen for a while for lunch,.
Shame about the pear tree Fred, hope the second one florishes for you,the apple tree sounds interesting.
Just read about the earthquake in Oz ,was going to email my friend who lives in Mornington which is near Melbourne last night but the Cable went down, right in the middle of the first half of the match,It had not come back on by the tiime we went to bed at 10.15,John and David had to watch the England maytch in our bed room on the terrestial tv,!!!!!
Having a salad for tea, bought some burgers the other wek and put half in the freezer so having them with it,but John is not a burger person,so will do a tin of salmon or tuna as well.
Better get on with some bits of house work before i go out,
Take care Brendai

Afternoon everyone ,snap Brenda ,out shopping early on ,then home to a sunny garden ,so got the kitchen floor mats in the washing machine [one at a time] and got them out to dry before putting them away until winter ,and have just put the summer ones down on the floor.
I'm sure the bairns will love Cyprus Brenda ,a beutiful country ,marvelous people ,and the weddings ,if the local ones ,are something to behold :-D.
I recommend the island to anyone wanting a beutiful laid back holiday ,if a little on the expensive side ,food wise, the local shops ,bread cake shops are to die for ;-) just the place for people wanting to pile the weight on ,lol.
Just put the last of the turnip seeds in the troughs ,and we should do well for winter veggies now, fruit wise ,the first Pear tree i sent for on line was a waste of time and money ,the second one i brought from Morrison's is a belter though ,so i may buy a patio apple tree to replace it from there .
Think i might do some Tuna up for sandwiches for tea ,and may be some egg mayo ones as well ,being lazy today :-) .
Catch you all later :-D xxx

Afternoon all, well its wet ,windy and miserable here today, been to my friends to see to her cats ,she is on holiday in tenerife,
I do have a kindle fred ,but get some newbooks from the library as they are still dear even with the kindle,
John has been taking me places I got wet as I did not have a coat on ,and was drenched getting from the car to the door at my friends (she has a drive way but her car is parked on there so I had to walk over the garden,!!! from the car into the supermarket.and we had parked fairly close to the entrance.
Dorothy is doing a loy of watching the tenis on tv at the moment Fred, her friend is over to watch as well.o thats probably why she is not about as much. The pasta dish was simple really, fry chopped bacon till crispy, add low fat cream cheese with a little of the water from boiling pasta, add garden peas and mint alongwith choppedmushrooms (and new potoato if wanted)
drain pasta and add to other ingrediants and stir together serve with grated cheese,a sald would go well it it too or some crusty bread,
Having a treat tonight a small peice of sirloin steak and salad ,followed by baked apple and small amout of cream(low fat)
Have a nice weekend. Brenda

badger Report 16 Jun 2012 10:48

Morning Brenda ,yes ,i would say that if the pills havn't had any improving effect in a few weeks ,after a good start ,then you should tell your doctor ,they are not working as they should :-(.
Yes i like the pasta dishes too ,one i am very fond of is pasta twists done in Passata sauce with salt ,pepper [both ground] not pre mushed [yuk] a small can of sweet corn ,and a can of drained and chopped tuna, usually topped with a nice cheese and finished under the grill for 4 minutes to melt the topping ,yum :-D.
Hope you get out on that shopping trip .but get the hubby to take you in the car to the bus terminus ,no sense in getting soaked while you are out and about.
You could do with a Kindle lass ,which would save you keep returning books all the time more so now if all your work buddies have gone from the library.
Too wet to go anywhere today so i might just go into the greenhouse ,and pot on two troughs with late leeks ,leaving the last two for my turnips ;-).
Hope all is okay with Dorothy ,don't even see her on F talk at all ,though i keep looking. :-(.
Catch you later :-D <3 xx

Brenda Report 15 Jun 2012 18:18

evening all, trust me Fred to get things muddled, hope Sean enjoys the trip anyway.
I am feeling a bit down that i am not getting on as well as i was expecting with the new pills, there has only been a very slight improvement which has not improved any since the first few weeks,I will have to learn to be more patient.!!
Now we have only the one car I am feeling a wee bit "caged" when John is out at golf or running one errand while I am at home,!!! Can't just take off I like I used to.Might get to Bury tomorrow depends on the weather ,already had one saoking today do not want another tomorrow.
Made a new recipe tonight went down very well..Pasta with bacon, peas musrooms and mint .
Its one of those recipes you can play about with and add or take out things you do nor like.
Going to read my library book now its only a two weel loan,so I had better get it finshed.
Have agood weekend
Take care Brenda
PS have you heard anything from Bill Fred.?

Hi to all ,one of those nights here where sleep is a no no ,seemingly,so i will chill out on here for a while .
sean is away on a three day flight on a C 17 Brenda ,all work i'm afraid ,not so much a holiday ,they flew out to Alberta this morning ,stopping there overnight [tonight],load up tomorrow and fly on to Reno,,load up on to California, and then stay the night before going on to the Azores on the way home ,so hopefully ,he will be back Friday.
It will make a change for him back on flying duty ,and there is the extra pay cor .i wish i was young again .i miss my flying days ,even now.
I got on very well with the shower ,and have just about finished it ,only the curtain fasteners to fit in the morning ,and they arrived this afternoon. :-D.
Hope those tablets are effective Brenda ,they will make a big difference to your getting about more easily .
More later if i can't settle back in bed ,lol. ;-) :-) xx

Brenda

Brenda Report 13 Jun 2012 18:33

Evening all,its not been a bad day here weather wise.shame I was out and about and did not get any washing out!!
I went to the docs yesterday, seems I am on a slow effect tablet that inhibits the nerve and the pain ,but it is slow acting,so I will see minor improvements over the next 4/6months !!! if I am not improved by then I can try another tablet or maybe have the injection in my spine but that is only effictive for 6 to 7 months and has to be.repeated.
glad you are getting back to normal with the garden and that Sean is getting a brilliant holiday .Hope you manage to get over to Germany to see him.
Have some ironing to do now, keeps me out of the wat while the footie is on.!!!
Take care Brenda

badger Report 12 Jun 2012 19:10

hope you get those tablets sorted out Brenda ,sometimes it takes a little while to find one that is suitable for you ,but there are quite a few to choose from :-).
Had a good day today ,got two of the borders cleared of weed in time to get the bin out to get it emptied ,and then got the next tier of tatties into the barrels, they will be full in another four weeks ,so lots of lovely new potatoes for Christmas.
The shower is now a go ,the weeping joint sealed ,so,i will slide the panel in place come morning and then take the measurements for the new piece of skirting board ,and trims before going to B&Q to buy them ;-).
found the curtain wall clips too ,on E Bay ,and they are now on their way,so it should all be in place by the weekend.
Sean is off on his travels again away tomorrow to ,first Canada ,then the states ,,Reno and California, then to the Azores on the way back.
His posting to Germany has been confirmed ,a three year posting so hopefully he will be a senior nco by the time he gets back from there and with any luck ,we may get a holiday out there for two weeks, lol he says hopefully ;-).
Time to go and shut the green house up for the night,so i will say bye bye for now, stay safe down there and don't forget your wellies while out shopping he he. :-D ;-)
