Evening Fred and anyone else looking in.
Glad you are almost back to normal fred and hope your grandson got to the library ok and in time.!!!
Went to the supermarket this morning and had to queue for petrol ,I did need it ,I did not wait long and there was n't any restrictions But on my way home the queue was longer !!!
My sister has a petrol staation at the end of her street and usually calls on the day she gets paid,on the way home ,which was yesterday ,but could not get in the queue which was down the road.Soher husband kept looking out the front door to see how the queue was and went out late last nightwhen there was only a few cars , just before they closed to fill it up.
The goverment made a big boob boo this time me thibks.
I know what you mean about clothes shrinking in the wash,John says I wash things incorrectly especially his things!!!! which always shrink.!!
HAHA,
Take care Brenda xx

Morning Brenda ,Dorothy ,and anyone else who comes to have a looksee. :-)
Don't be blaming your diet lass ,your clothes shrunk in the wash ,lol, that's my excuse anyway ,and i'm sticking to it. :-|.
Sorry for not coming on yesterday ,but we was a tad busy ,lol,i have done a bit of feeding/watering in the garden ,checked the greenhouse ,and noted that some of the tomato plants are through, took a couple of dandilions out of the border before they flowered ,and checked on my fruit trees which are doing well ,before i cut the back lawn.
I then took the grandson over to Gateshead where i looked at ,passed to buy for him ,and ended up getting him a nice Toyota Celicia with 88,000 miles on the clock ,immaculate inside and out,so he is well sorted.
He DOES have the new house in Brize ,as long as he get's his bum over to the library this morning and faxes the forms through to the mod in Walters Ash in High wycombe.so i may well leave for Blackpool two days early.and go via Brize to see the new pad .
Sean leaves here Saturday ,goes back to get shifted ,and then flies out to see Marta ,for two weeks before taking up his new post .
Once he has gone ,and his car is off the drive ,i can get the mower out ,and start the front garden ,starting with the lawn .
Time to get the wife her cuppa ,be back later when i have had enough of greenhouse work ,lol.Fred :-D :-D

Its definatley diet time again ,tried two different outfits on the other day and both were more than shall we say a comfy fit.
Hope to meet my friend tomorrow she is having a few personal problems ,hope a good chat can help her
Take care Brenda.

badger Report 27 Mar 2012 05:50

Morning Brenda ,and Dorothy, plus anyone else who looks in.
We will be on our way home later this morning ,the job down here done, after a good couple of days ,sun wise .and me with no garden to look after ,grrrrrrr ,he he :-).
Managed to get down to Westbury yesterday to say my good buys to Ray at last, but got a bit upset at the same time.
I had heard that his wife was a real bitch to put it mildly and have to say ,it looks as though it is true,as upon finding the grave,it was totally bare ,no flowers ,no headstone ,not even a vase to put flowers in,i could have wept ,and very nearly did.
Ruddy woman bled him dry from the minute they were married, and is too ruddy mean to even go no more than half a mile to lay a few flowers, but Ray never lost his sense of humour despite this ,and used to spend most of his time at the local church as part of the community.
The man was too smart for her in the end days ,changing his will ,leaving all his money to his two children ,the bitch only got to keep the house and the half pension.
Sean is coming back up home with us for two weeks ,giving him time to find his new car, before coming back to Lyneham in time to move house ,the air force finding him a new place at Brize after all, where he can use his bike to cycle to work every day.
His new house is only five minutes amble to the main gate of the camp, but the bike he will need to go to his unit which is nearly two miles over the airfield,a bit far to walk.
Once this is done ,he is off to Poland for two weeks to see the missus,a busy lad he is going to be ,lol.
Going to push off now and start packing ,then off to see my puddy tat ,lol.Fred :-D.

Had lunch in town with some other friends today, nice company and food.
John is at dentist tomorrow hope he does not have to have anything done,!!!
Hope things are going ok at your grandsons Fred and you and Liz are enjoying your stay...

Morning Brenda ,from sunny ,i hope Lyneham wher i was woken up by the grandson at 4 am this morning ,grrrrrrrr ,an sms to say he would be leaving Cyprus early ,and would be at Brize by 1 pm.
Cor ,this is gonna cost him big time ,a Mcdonalds and a biiiiiig one at that, lol.
Too late to roast the beef by the time we get back here so i will make the Shepherds pie mix that i have brought down with me ,but i won't tell him its Quorn and not meat until he has eaten it,but i very much doubt that he will be able to taste any difference to a one made with meat.
You could really do with one of those packets in Brenda ,they are so handy if you get caught short for any reason, two oxo cubes in the mix and they are great, enough to feed four as well.
Just as well though that i brought the tatties with me yesterday because the local shop had nothing in ,and we made jackets last night ,with some cheese grated over the top.
We had a good journey down apart from a few truck drivers who were pulling over to overtake in front of us ,making us brake sharply ,i know these fellas have a job to do ,but these days they are bloody dangerous sometimes ,using the truck to intimidate other drivers.
Lord help any one of them who causes me to have an accident through stupidity ,because with camera evidence ,i would sue the arse off him /her ,and make sure they paid dearly for their troubles, huh thirty years i drove trucks ,and i never saw truckers behaving like that in those days :-|.
We did pass an accident on the north bound M6 mid morning ,with the north bound completely blocked ,sand all over the place ,two crushed care and a darned great hole through the hard shoulder barrier ,where ,i reckon ,a truck had gone off and down the embankment into trees.,and our daft government kis on about putting the speed limit up to 80 mph to make more money.i think the idiots responsible for this idea should be dragged to the scene of one of these smashes and made to view the carnage ,and then ,to make sure the lesson had been learned, stay there ,be given a brush and shovel and made to clear the mess up :-| :-(.
Off now to find some brekkie, looks like toast this morning,he he ,i feel a bit like Mother Hubbard must have felt ,lol :-)
Checking on the virgin site Brenda ,it looks like i can get the cold call barring set up ,coupled to the caller identity for £3-70 a month, + my outgoing call identity blocked so that no one can call me back, after i make an outgoing call, ,which is free ,so i will get this done as soon as i get home, and then give my number to those few that are going to get it:-D.
Catch you when i get back, have a good day Dorothy ,Brenda ,and any one else who looks in :-D :-D

Hi Fred and anyone else looking in.
Think Dorothy has already tried different ways to get back on and thats why she can view the threads but not add to it.
She is also having problems with her pc,and is hoping she will be getting a newer one for her birthday in May.
I will also be hoping to get either another lap top or desk top after our holidays in May ,mentioned it to David about sharing the cost but he has not come back with any reply yet!!.
Just having a spag bol for tea as we have had sandwiches and then scones at lunch.!!
Weather has been very spring like today and have had the washing out ,think i should have done the bedding as well but as we were out at a garden centre this morning I did not have time. Hope the weather is the same tomorrow.
I am not sure if I am out with friends tomorrow for lunch or just a coffe, will be good if weather is like this.
Will make a note of date you are at Cala Gran and we will see what ywe can sort out.
Better get the tea started ,david wants to eat early tonight.
Take care Brenda

Hi Brenda ,nice to see you back ,lol, with the trouble i have had trying to renew my membership this morning ,you nearly came back to Find Fred gone too.
I wonder now ,can you suggest to Dorothy that she re register under a new name ,and register as a free member ,no subs to pay for .and she can still see ,and reply to threads and boards, the only things not open to her being contacting members via the boards ,or using their cencus and search options ,worth a thought anyway?
Been busy here our Lass ,the whole back garden ,including greenhouse is done ,dusted ,and ready to go.and the front patio ditto.
This still leaves the front garden though ,groan ,but at least ,i can take my time with that ,thank goodness.
The grandson will be Home Friday ,so we are away down to Lyneham come Thursday morning to get his house opened up and ready .
He is now Staying in Wiltshire brize being stowed out and no houses left ,but the r A F are laying on a shift bus to collect them going in to Brize ,and bringing them back to Lyneham after wards ,.
Much the same as me leaving Edinburgh each morning for Pitreavie Castle 16 miles away ,and coming back at the end of the shift.
It saves the lad having to use his own car anyway.so he will be a lot fresher going ,and coming back..
I will hang on for a couple of weeks with the number Brenda ,until i get these new phones sorted ,so that i can put my contacts in it to barr nuisance calls.
Hopefully Virgin have this facility so that i can make best use of these panasonic cordless phones .
Any way ,i will know very shortly because i am going into the metrocentre tomorrow ,and will call in to enquire .
Serves you right with the phones ,lol, we use T Mobile and used it and the dongle for two weeks for both the phone ,and internet two years ago with no bother ,you can keep 03 and vodaphone ,he he.
Think the first week at Carla this year is the 23rd of April,so we can see if something can be sorted out nearer the date ,yes? :-).
Off now to have a mooch about ,back later Fred. :-D :-D

Hi Fred and everyone else.
Had a really fantastic time at my nephews wedding at weekend in Cornwall.
It was a long drive down and back but it was worth it.
The bride and groom looked gorgeous and the wedding was great to say the least.
The hotel was really good and the only minus thing about it was the lack of mobile signal etc.It was funny watching t hose with the Iphones not able to get on to anything !!!. You had to go up a really big hill to get a reception on the phone.
Had a lovelly phone call from Dorothy today ,she still manages to get on to read out messages ,even thougth she can not get on to answer.
Will be sending you an email fred.
Take care Brenda

Ey uuuup our Lass ,crikey ,with you away in Cornwall for this ere Wedding ,and no computer ,it's gonna be quiet on here ,[shouts out loud .where's the cavalry ] :-). Have a great time Brenda and don't get lostin the market down there or we will never see you again ,Cornwall being a pasty and pie culture shock .[ a nice one ] slurp ,the pasties being to die for as are the steak pies ,he he you will need to keep your eye on hubby for those as he may wan't to stay down theree once he gets the taste for them ;-).
Yep ,i got my second barrel back in place today and will be starting that off next week when i see what tattie tubers are on offer.
I got all the buckets up to the end of my narrow patch refilled ,manured ,and ready to go ,the greenhouse is ready to start planting, all the boxes along the wall of the house ,ditto ,and the step and brickwork are done ,but i am now knackered until tomorrow morning,oh ,and last thing ,i got the spring feeder onto the back lawn ,because the rain ,due tomorrow will water it in .
Think i will look on e Bay verry shortly for a new terrabyte external drive ,my little one being u/s :-( i need a new one to keep all my back up files and programmes in ,just in case of a crash ,i can't afford to lose all that stuff.
Going to have a lazy tea today ,some crumpets with marmite on ,a cheese scone ,and a few crackers wih cheese on ,and pickle ,of course.
Catch you later all ,in Brenda's case i may have to run hard and fast he he :-D, Fred.

Hi Fred,I know how you are feeling with your legs, was out to the chiropodists today and went to a new one,it was alittle further away from teh carpark than I thought and my leg was ready to drop off when I got there. But was ok after a few minutes while I sat and filled in a registration form when I got there.
Took my sister for an hospital appointment this afternoon and she has to go tomorrow as well, its early so will have to be up a bit earlier.
Then need an early night tomorrow as we are off to Cornwall friday morning,Not taking the lap top so will not be back on here til either late Sunday or Monday unless they have any pc at the hotel.

Morning our Kid ,lol from a dull Newcastle upon tyne ,where old Fred is sitting down [again ] his old pegs still stiff and sore after the sojern in the garden he he.finished off by the doing of the porch repair .
Only the red paint to put on the brick and step to finish it all off and it's then back to garden duties ,[hair of the dog] hoping that a little more work will ease the legs ,lol, oh mother ,such a job i had getting up the stairs last night :-( .
Off to the shops to do a Brenda this morning ,a bit of a browse ,a bit of a shop, and a coffee.finishing off at B & Q for my seeds ,turnip ,and Pak Choi,my bug killer and anything else that catches the eye . :-) .
Tomorrow ,weather willing i will finish off the feeding and filling all of my buckets in the garden ,and greenhouse ,ready to start ,finishing off by putting my tomato seeds in the greenhouse, and maybe starting the bean seeds off in the little cups i use .
We are only starting 9 tomatoes this year in the greenhouse ,but i will do a few extra for the garden borders in some spare buckets ,cherry tomato because they are a variety that can be put straight on a salad plate ,whole.
Hope you have recovered from the Dentist ,and the shock of the bill Brenda ,i was lucky this last month ,nothing needing done this time.
Hope Dorothy is okay ,i keep looking for her on F Talk in case she shows up ,but never know for sure when she can look in on here ,or not ,but more and more people on here are having trouble logging in ,high time g R got the stone out of their pant's and got the site sorted instead of the continued playing about with the programming which only makes the problem worse ,grrrrr :-(.
Hae to go and check the car over ,be back later ,Fred :-D :-)

Hope everyone is ok.and the weather is being kind to you all.

Brenda Report 12 Mar 2012 18:02

Evening all.had a pretty lazy day really .after waking early and turning over for ten minutes ,, which turned out to be well over an hour !!!
I had a nice shower, then bowl of porridge ,phoned a couple of friends who I was meeting hopefully on Wednesday ,but had to call and say I couldn't make it, as my sister has an hospital appointment but got the days mixed up!!..
The toastie you make sounds great ,but we do not have a pannini toaster,I do have some toastie bags that you can make a toastie with by making a normal cheese and ham sandwich then put in the bag and into the toaster and toast ,never had a bad one yet ,used to do them at work for a snack lunch and only problem is that you can not use toasting bread as its is too thick putting two slices together so it has to medium or thin sliced.
Met my other friend for lunch today but had to change plans as the place we wanted to go to was closed for renovations,so we ended up at the local Beefeater, not that bad,but have had better.
Hope you get the painting done Fred .and the spare ground ends up as you want it.We have started to tidy up the garden, well John has, he has taken out a couple of small conifers that had gone brown and leggy over the last couple of years .he has now got some more room for other things!!
But until we know what is happening with the proposed extention to the house at the back,he is not planning on any greenhouse stuff this year
Back to the garage tomorrow to get that seat belt sorted and also at the dentist later for a check up.!!
Would be nice to see Pamela again and Dorothy.seems its just the Fred and Brenda show at the minute.!!!
Take care Brenda

Hi Brenda ,glad you enjoyed the trip to Bury ,sounds good to me ,maye i will manage that one again by the time i get down that way in early April ,who knows ,after all the weather will be a little warmer for Liz by then .
Yes ,your area makes some nice pies ,and i can remember well the steak ones ,yum ,the only place better to my mind for any pie from pasty to steak is cornwall, and Padstow best of all.
I'm afraid we don't wait for market day for a toastie Brenda ,i make a belting one at home simply by using our Pannini press,.heat up first ,get the ingredients ready in the meantime .thinly sliced cheddar cheese ,deli ham and a tad of freshly ground pepper.
Butter ther bread on one side.and place buttered side down on the hotplate ,a layer of cheese ,then ham some ground pepper ,another layer of cheese ,put the other slice of bread on top butter side to the top plate ,and close up,the result is to die for,and worth the four minute it takes to cook ;-).
Got the porch repointing repair done last evening ,and all that's left to do now is sand it down later ,then paint with red brick and step paint ,do the step at the same time ,and the job is finished.
The machines have now gone back up the road to the remaining flats and now outside ,over the road ,the soil is back in place ,and no sign of flat's ever being there ,wahay ,in three months all there will be to see ,is trees& grass as far as the eye can see ,bliss and back to peace and quiet ,and best of all ,the bairns round about will have a place to play on ,something councils never consider and for which they should be deeply ashamed :-|.
I do hope Pamela will come back for a visit ,and maybe even as a regular, such a shame that Dorothy was messed about by G R, i do miss her input so much, but at least she can still look in from time to time which is better than nothing.
Well ,that's me for now ,i am off into the garden ,tons to do to kick off the season .lol, catch you all later ,with an aching back no doubt ,he he ,[some people never learn] ;-) Fred.

Whoops, pressed wrong button,!!!!! Hi Pamela and welcome ,we are a friendly bunch here and always happy to see new people .
Well Fred I got to Bury ,and managed a little walk round and got a few bits and pieces, but I treated John to a steak pie from the bakers he likes and got a cheese one for me so had to wait till I got home for my cuppa.!!
The cheese pie was nice but I would have preferred the toastie,!!!
Saw a few things I might go back and look at again, but it will be a few weeks, maybe the end of the month.
Where are you in Australis Pamela,I have friends near Melbourne,
Hope you all enjoy your weekend how ever you spend it.
