Hi Fred ,glad you and Liz got to Fleetwood ok.
We are going about 10 in the morning to Cleveleys, have to pick Johns sister and brother in law up first.
Made it to Bury Market this morning ,went early which was a good thing as it was really busy when I was coming home at 11.30am I did not walk round to much but it was enougth to get what i went for.
Hope you enjoyed your bath,do not remember seeing a van with a bath ,they all seem to be showers.
Take care

Evening troops ,from sunny Fleetwood [not] where Fred and faithful sidekick Chester,[ Liz] have done our bit of shopping and are now sat down after viewing this brand new caravan, courtesy of Hazels friend.
What a belter of a van it is too a beutiful kitchen ,complete with the sort of stove i wanted but couldn't have ,five burner hob ,with the grill ,and fan oven set on the far wall.
We are both having a bath this evening seeing as the van has a huge bath and shower room ,i thought the warm water soak would do Chester's sore knee a lot of good ,and i like to have a good soak and a cuppa anyway.
Yep Brenda ,i know which chippie you mean now ,and will be doing a bit of shopping and winning ticket searching too ,what wouldn't i give for my own holiday caravan like this one .
catch you all tomorrow ,Fred. :-D

Brenda Report 16 Nov 2011 16:52

Afternoon Fred and Dorothy, had a nice sunny day here again but nippy.
Had a very lazy day,as I did not sleep much at all last night and John said i woke him up with my tossing and turning,
Had a few emails from people at the wedding at weekend saying how they had a good time.
Fred what are you and Liz like hope you do make it to Fleetwood. Will only be in Clevelys for approx 5/6 hours and probably will not go out ,John and his brother in law will nip to the chippy,Its on a side street from the front and sort of backs on to B&M
I am out tonight for my friends birthday,we are going Italian as its sort of inbetween our homes so easy to get to for us all.
Take care Brenda

Morning to Brenda ,and Dorothy, who can still look in though not add [fear not dear lady ,if it's back to emails ,then so be it lol].
my dear missus buggered her left knee last afternoon ,and had to be helped upstairs last night [puff puff] ,either she is getting heavier to push ,or i'm getting older [or both ] :-|.
Any way ,i threatened her ,take it easy for a couple of days or no Fleetwood for you my lady ,he he ,that should work with any luck.
We get down Friday at around 3 pm ,and our fist jaunt out [or limp ,as the case may be] will be to get the shopping for the week ,so We will be around and may even bump in to you Brenda, but i don't quite know which chippy you are talking about ,as there are three in the vicinity of the bus station ,we don't use the cafe any more up the first side street as it is becoming a bit of a rip off ,climbing prices ,and dwindling portions but ,i suppose ,that's the way things are these days.
Don't know what this rip off culture in britain is coming to ,the price of crude oil has gone down 20% in four months ,but our greedy fuel suppliers have not reduced the fuel prices at all ,so annoying when they shove the prices up like a bolt from the blue when crude goes up.
This government [if you can call this shower that] should be clamping down on these companies that are holding the country to ransom ,but they have no balls for real work, other than beating their gums and kow towing to Brussels.
Still waiting for my new puter battery ,so i think i will swap computers shortly ,other wise ,if the demolition men hit the mains cable [like they did the last time ] i will be off air likety split ,he he.
Catch you later peoples ,Take care everyone,Fred :-D .

Hi Fred, hope everything goes well for your trip to Fleetwood. We are going to Clevelys for the day ,on Saturday as it is Johns Mothers birthday on Monday ,
we hope to have fish and chips for tea ,from the chippy near the bus station and a nice sponge birthday cake for afters.
Will be emailing Dorothy each week so we do not loose touch.
Better get on with the tea.
Take care Brenda

Hi Brenda ,i was pleased to hear that the wedding ,and meeting of the families went so well for you ,but i was a bit upset to hear that Dorothy is not likely to join our little genes family again ,a real bummer ,but of course ,she must have her reasons ,anyway ,i still have her number ,so if she dosn't mind ,i will start calling her every couple of weeks,it is better than nothing.
Only three days to go ,and then we will be away down to Fleetwood again ,woohoo,a week of peace and quiet ,[very quiet ] this time because the site is shut to holiday makers ,owners and their guests only ,he he ,nice quiet evenings ,and mornings ,and long lazes without a certain cat wanting me up at 5 every morning [bliss].
Having TWO dongles now means no fighting as to who goes onto the net first ,she can use my Toshiba lappy ,while i use my Acer ,he he ,no more argie bargie .
The kitchen is now finished ,i got my jig saw out on Saturday ,cut the kick boards and glued them into place with instant grab adhesive and then did the same with the bench top trims to seal the back along the walls.
I can reccomend the full mini valet for the Car Brenda ,no hassle about doing the job in the cold and rain ,and the place in Fleetwood is the same as the one up here ,well worth the cost ,as they do a darned good job ,inside and out.
Off to get on with the tea now ,rolled pork belly ,stuffed with stuffing ,mini roast tatties, the last boiling of the beetroot from the garden which i pulled this afternoon ,and cabbage ,and leeks in cheese sauce ,also from the garden ,which is now shut down until spring ,all cleared out this afternoon. :-).
Catch you later,Fred.
P/S Bill is still around but is having bother with his provider and can only use messenger ,no net apart from that ,but he is well ,and enjoying the start of his spring :-D.

Afternoon all.well we had an absolutley brilliant time yesterday at my neices wedding!!.
The weatherwas really good for us,dry sunny and very mild.
Everything about the day was great,it was good to see other members of the family who we don't see often,,and meet the grooms family,
The vicar made us all feel good in the church, and was actually very funny at times!! the staff at the hotel where the reception was and where we stayed could not do enougth for everyone.
Thought your son was doing the kick boardsFred? So I can understand why Liz does not want you to get down on your knees ,what about the back.??.
John managed to get the inside of the car done on Friday afternoon,he had washed it at the local car washwhich was afiver, don't know what it costs for the inside as well, might have a look.
Having a lazy day today ,I am not even doing any dinner,we are just having a sandwich and some fruit.
Out to town tomorrow meeting some old work collegues ,which should be good..
Had a reply from Dorothy ,Fred don.t think she will be back, will email you what she said.
Take care

Morning Brenda ,just a few lines before we go out for our weekend shopping.
I have to get a rattle on ,lol, going to be busy today ,i was going to do those kick boards yesterday ,but i got vetoed by the missus who said ,wait until tomorrow when the weather will be better ,which is all very well ,but i was at a loose end, today i am busy anyway ,and trying to finish the kitchen off as well, thats me tied up until it gets dark [sigh] but what's the use ,argue the toss with the wife ,and she goes into a hissy fit [sorry Hissy],but any male knows just what i mean.lol :-| .
Yep .i used to get the same up here ,so much as take a hoover outside ,and open the cat door ,result ,instant cloud and rain ,grrrrrr , now take mine to our local car wash and have the outside ,and inside done while i sit and watch ,he he ,so much more genteel and civilised ,and ,i am helping to keep a car wash team in work [that's my excuse anyway, and at £8-50 ,it's a steal. :-) .
Enjoy the weekend all ,could be the last decent one for quite a while ,Fred. :-D

I really don't know what I did last time to have two messages!!!
The casserole was good, but not sure I would do it again,as John and David were not that keen !!
Still not heard from Dorothy ,will send her an email and see if she is ok.
My sister reacons the sun will shine tomorrow ,so it had better or there will be trouble ,!!!
John is just back from golf and we are now supposed to be cleaning the inside of the car,but the big black cloud hanging up there might put a stop to that !!.
Hope they do demolish those flats while its wet etc Fred ,Liz should not have to put up with dust etc.
See you after the wedding.<Take care

Morning to our Brenda ,who ,by the way ,seems to have hiccups,he he maybe the onions were a tad strong in that dish, lol, you stick to those shallots instead :-D.
Your weather for Saturday is supposed to be a tad warmer ,with sunny periods ,so i will keep my fingers crossed for the wedding, but the bride and groom normally ,are so tied up in the day ,and themselves ,that they won't notice, even if it piddles down .
Hope that storm stayed in Nome and didn't get into Canada ,it was supposed to be a bad one ,by any standards ,lots of snow and very high winds ,not nice at all .
Looks like the demolition of the flats over the road will start any time now ,hopefully before the spring ,while the rain and snow help to keep the dust down ,but i think i will get some dust masks just in case ,better for Liz to go round for a few weeks looking like a Daggit ,than getting a load of that crap in her lungs,it's bad enough getting the dust indoors over the floors every time you come in from shopping ,without health problems from it too :-| .
Hope everyone is okay ,and looking towards the weekend, catch you later ,Fred. :-)

Hi Fred and any one else looking in.I do hope we have some sunshine on Saturday ,we have a wedding to go to,
But you are right mother nature can still show us who is boss.!!
Went to the supermarket for four things this afternoon, came out with four items but when I got home I realised I had not got shallots ,which i needed and did get teacakes which i did not really need (just faniced one)
So I had to use a couple of onions just quartered ,it wasn't bad ,no body complained.any way!!
And the teacake was nice toasted.
Better get on having my hair coloured ,
Take care Brenda

Hi Brenda ,the Leek & Potato soup ,freezes well ,but i don't know about the Butternut ,because we don't like it and apart from tasting it when made by my younger son ,we have never frozen that.
Very dull and cool up here too ,but when all said and done ,it's that time of year.
and to be blunt ,i can't see it improving until well after the old gadgy in his white and red suit has been and gone.
Hope Dorothy is well wrapped up Brenda ,there was a bad storm front moving in to Alaska today ,and it may spread over to Canada proper later ,don't know what's going on with the worlds weather ,Bills side of the world is suffering bad storms and rain ,and the states are suffering too,it seems us brit's are the lucky ones.
The cat is creating ,she likes her tea around this time so that she can go for her walk before it gets dark :-).
Be back later on ,Fred :-D.

Brenda Report 9 Nov 2011 10:57

Morning all.well with a lot of help and advise from Fred I hope I am now fully secure on this pc and the lap top.!!!!!
weather to day very grey and drap.going out later for some veggies for tea and also taking my neice for her hospital appointment, this will be the last one I take her for ,she has at least one other appointment but I do not take her on Saturdays ,
Hope Dororthy is looking and and knows we miss her, hope she got the email I sent her last week.
Still busy I see Fred, going to make some soups myself later a Butternut squash and pepper soup and leek and potato, might try and freeze one and see how I go, not froze any before.
Not been sleeping again just lately ,but get so tired in the day and trying not to have any catnaps as I am sure they contribute to not sleeping at night and its getting to cold to get up and come on here at 3am.!!!
Take care Brenda

Not too bad a day today,a tad warmer than yesterday but a stay in doors sort of time ,lol.
We have spent part of the day making our soup, two large pans worth ,one mushroom and one parsnip ,lovely ,he he ,guess what's for tea tonight along with a nice short French stick.
There are three rows of leeks out back too ,plus a large sack of tatties which should be about ready to tip out meaning plenty of soups to make yet.
You okay out there in the cold Dorothy ,must be a lot colder over there now ,you need to keep yourself tucked up and warm.
Catch you again later ,Fred. :-)

Evening Brenda ,and hopefully Dorothy who could be looking in,from a darned cold Newcastle upon tyne ,where we have had the heating on nearly all day.
Thank goodness it is supposed to warm up slightly for the rest of the week.
Now the kitchen is finished and straightened up other than the kick boards which the son said he will do ,i can relax until the spring ,when the next job is to get the hall and stairs done.
One little chore still to do ,is to go to B & Q Wednesday and buy three big thick foil radiator reflectors to go on the inner wall to reflect the heat into the rooms.recommended by my heating wallah.
In a week or so ,i will get the greenhouse cleaned out ,and shut down until spring ,the last job being to move the Nectarine bush in there for frost protection.
Hope everyone ois keeping warm ,i am off to do some tea ,making myself a toasted cheese& ham sarnie with a bit of hot mustard mixed into the grated cheese ,too cold for salad tonight ,he he :-0.
Catch you all in the morning ,soup making day ,and staying indoors :-D, Fred. :-|

Morning to all.Fred is Back.pardon the pun .he he ,like Bill said ,that plurry cooker was a tad heavy ,too much for me anyway ,specially as the first one had to go back .
The new one arrived at 7.30 pm last evening and by then i was ready to go back to bed ,and did so with a horlicks and a nice book .
I wasn't too bad when i got up this morning ,and even managed to kneel down behind the cooker and hard wired it in ,so ,it's now in place ,job finished ,and by the time i had commisioned it ,and pre burned the special linings ,it was ready to go.
While i was burning the linings ,i sloped off onto the patio ,woolie on ,and sat with a cuppa until the fumes cleared ,not the sort of rubbish to get in your lungs.
Half an hour later the son arrived ,and slid the cooker back into it's place ,so ,it's all done now ,apart from the kick boards which the son will do for me during the week.
We kept Hissy indoors last night after her tea ,which i gave her an hour early ,and then kept her in the front room with us ,poor mite hates fireworks and i remembered that she freaked out last year .
Sorry to be missing so long people ,but i found out the hard way that us oldies have to be careful as to how things have to be lifted as you get older ,no fun is it?
Going to give the new oven a work out now ,using the smaller top oven to do the roasties and pork ,saving a lot of pennies too ,don't think we will be using the main fan oven unless we get company.
I think our government needs to rethink the upping of the motorway speed limit after the crash in Devon ,bad enough as it is ,can you imagine it if the limit had been 80 mph ,the carnage would have been a lot worse than it was .we should be going DOWN to 60 mph ,quite fast enough for anyone but the loonies.
Back later peeps ,going to see to dinner,Fred. :-)

Brenda, Just for you hehe. From my Vast records of GR.

Billy No Mates
By BillinOz

26 May 2004 00:31

When Billy blew his bubbles,
Oh what a great surprise,
They all grew little arms and legs
and mouth and nose and eyes!

He heard his bubbles laughing,
He saw them leap and prance,
He stared at them in wonderment,
And watched them gaily dance.

Then Billy joined up with GR
he thought it was a blast
he found a lot of new Mates
But GR wasnt very fast
He shouted to his mother
But when at last she came
his new mates had disappeared
Now wasnt that a shame.
