Hi Woody, good to hear you are feeling better. Enjoy Middlesbrough and York and your anniversary and I'll talk to you next week. I did wonder if you might know Kathy, hopefully some of you may be able to get together with GB once we get her moving again. Have fun. Sheila

Hi Sheila and Jenny, Thanks for your good wishes - I am pleased to say that the flu is on the way out, think it got blown away with the gales! I've just realised I'm in touch with Kathy on scotfamtree site! She helps out at the Abdn FHS and is only online when she's in there. She's extremely good at searching records, I've seen her work. You'll need to join, Sheila - great site. As I'm feeling better I'm going to Middlesburgh on Friday and York on Sunday but will be back home on Tuesday so can be back in the loop whenever. It's our anniversary on Wed 29th and we'll miss out on our usual hols so it's just a weekend away. By then, Kathy should be back online as well so can link up with either her or Sue. Dec is tight but not impossible! And I'm hoping for a wee saunter to Glasgow so can liaise with you for handover if reqd. Off to bed, goodnight all. Christine

Good evening everyone, an update and its another hitch I'm afraid. Kathy near the Sea has computer problems and is off line until the end of the month, so she feels she needs to opt out at the moment as communication is almost impossible. So, I've warned Raven Anne, and contacted Sue in New Deer who is going to link up with Anne somehow! Watch this space for further news! Please don't ask what happens next cos I haven't got a clue! I will wait for this handover to happen and then we will see how Woody is getting on with her 'flu, and all her other plans and commitments. Then we will take it from there! Jilly, what on earth did you want to go and get cancer for? This was supposed to be your job!!!!! More news once I have some! Sheila

Hi Sheila, you timed your post just right, I have just logged on. Think your idea to keep GB with Sue until we know when Woody is able to have GB is a good one. So I will continue to leave GB and her travels safe in your hands. Any problems please dont hesitate to contact me. As I said in an earlier post, as long as I have GB back around late February early March, all will be ok. Just keep us all informed as to when and where the next handovers are, so we can all follow GB and her travels. You are doing a grand job. Jenny x

Good afternoon everyone, been out all day and going out again tonight, so this is a quick visit. No messages from anyone so far, so nothing to report. I am not making any plans beyond Sue in New Deer until Woody knows what she can do. Then we will sort out the tail of the journey. It is my intention to have GB back in this area (Edinburgh/Fife) for Jilly before she goes back south, so any links can be through me, that is not a problem. I'll probably not be back on until tomorrow afternoon. See you all then. Sheila

Good morning all. Have hubby's laptop so will be around over the weekend. Can you all note my earlier post, that I cannot access my blueyonder email address whilst my laptop is away being repaired. Please PM me for my alternative one. Sorry to hear that Woody is down with the dreaded Flu. FIL had the 'Flu Jab' two weeks ago and is now rather poorly with a nasty chest infection and cold. Get well soon Woody and FIL. xxx Anne, I do hope GB is being a good girl for you and her extended stay with you is not going to cause any problems. Please get in touch with me asap. Sue in New Deer. Could you also get in touch with me. Sheila. Pleased to hear you had a lovely Birthday and time with your family. I have my lot up at the begining of December and just before Christmas. Cannot wait to see them, but dreading it at the same time Lol. I am a little concerned that Woody has had to delay her time with GB, which of course cannot be helped. She did tell me that she would find it awkward to have GB around Christmas and January, which is why she was hoping to have her earlier. If you are able to go back to plan 1, can you let me know what route GB will be taking, and if she will be ending up on the west coast as I was originally told or will she be going back to Edinburgh again to Jilly and Clan??? Originally, Sheila in Northumberland was supposed to collect GB after her 'Tour of Scotland' around the East Borders of Scotland, and she was to pass her to me in Tynemouth. Sheila lives just a little further up the NE Coast than me in Lynemouth. As far as I know Sheila is no longer a member of GR, but she could be using a different name and perhaps on the 'other site' Ann Lazenby in Darlington had said she could possibly help out in this area also. Plus I am sure I can call on Fred from Totteridge Lane if need be. Ann was the third person to have GB when the relay first started. Obviously with me being on the east coast and not far from the Borders, we shall have no problems picking GB up. But we will if GB finishes her 'Tour of Scotland' on the West Coast. Sorry going on a bit now, I shall put a thread up asking if anyone is still in touch with Sheila in Northumberland. Please anyone, dont hestitate to get in touch with me if need be. Jenny xx

Evening everyone, We ahve a slight hitch in the arrangements for GB. Currently she is with Raven Anne and was due to go to Woody tomorrow. Unfortunately Woody has 'flu, as do a number of her staff meaning that all her plans are awry! Woody, don't overdo it and get well soon. Love from all of us. So we are trying to go back to plan 1. Calling Kathy near the Sea (in Aberdeen) and Sue in New Deer! I have PM'd you both. Please can you get in touch soon! I shall be around all evening on & off (I do want to watch some of Children in Need). Raven Anne, I have asked Kathy to contact you. I do hope GB has been a good girl and that DQ has enjoyed her company. Be back once I have more news. Sheila

Hi everyone Sorry, been away for the last 10 days and had limited time and computer access - 1 year olds are a full time occupation even with 3 of us! Woody contacted me re early access to GB and I suggested she and Raven sorted it out between them. I see no reason why GB cannot come back to Aberdeen later on. I think Woody has been in contact with Polly and RDA, but I am not sure of all the plans yet. It sounds as though GB will go back to Aberdeen via Woody, then we shall get her back down here asap. Then it is hoped to have her go with Jilly for a Chemo session - we have to check if bears are allowed to visit, a query raised by a friend of mine who knows of someone whose little girl 'lost' a teddy taken to a treatment session, but the details are hazy. Then we will arrange for GB to go to Ann in Northumberland, is that right? As to a timetable, well, that depends doesn't it? I am sure everyone concerned will keep us all informed. Sheila

Sorry had a visitor. So had to dash off. Anne, hope your having a nice time with GB.. Are you handing her over to Woody tomorrow? I know Woody needed to have GB earlier than originally planned, but was not sure when. As I have not heard from Sheila I am not in the picture anymore as to where GB is going next, and I need to know. If someone could let me know please. Jenny.

OK folks, now have Daughters PC up and running. Laptop is being picked up by courier today to be repaired. I will not have access to my emails until it is returned. I would like to thank Jennifer for taking part in the relay at short notice. Bet GB enjoyed the Fireworks and Sheila's Birthday. Did you get any photographs Jen? RDA, not sure of GB's itinarary as Sheila had to change the relay slightly. Will post as soon as I know. In fact, has anyone heard from Sheila recently, it has been quite a while since I last heard from her. She could have emailed me but I cannot get to it. Back in a mo. Jenny x
