I know exactly what you mean Mandy. There's a shop near us called 'toys for big boys'. Bill is not allowed to go play there! Took them too long to put him back together the last time he pretended he was Barry Sheene. No 2 son was at the Turkey - Greece game last night and I was worried sick. He came in a bit sheepish, so I dont know who won... I'll find out when he gets woken up by the 'Golden-One' in a bit. He's looking at me as if to say .. Come on mom, I dont want to wait for lazy-bones.. no-chance, I'm off duty this morning...

Talking of geography. I must say one of the best driving holidays we had was going down to Vegas. We had flown 2x before, but thought that we would drive this last time. Beautiful. I would like to do it this year but the pennies aren't there. Toatal driving time 20hrs. We crossed the Canada/US boarder at 2am. Went through - Washington. Oregon, and stopped at 12 noon in Utah. Left at 5am, went through Idaho, Arizone, Nevada arrived at 3pm in Vegas. 10 hours each day. We are flying to Wendover Nevada in August. 1.5 hours from Salt Lake City. When we went through there last time Hubby would not stop. He said 'wave thats the closest that you will get' Not a Geneaoligist obviously! Deb

Sorry Girls, I just phoned my sons cel to see if they were safely at the hotel..........NO! Apparently they were quit a ways into the bush when they encountered a downed bridge. If I have my story straight, they had to back track and and come back and go via the coastal route. IE via Whitler. I told son to get Dad to call me later. Long trek for them (14 hrs so far) Deb

Sounds like we should be renting your 'downstairs' for our hols then Jaqc...lol... Mandy, thats the type of journey everyone does here to go to work. Bus, metro, train, and just like the UK people commute to the capital every day by plane. I think I covered about evry mode of transport yesterday except the plane!

You girls still about...? Mandy, I know what you mean about distance, when we were in the UK I used to complain about going into Newcastle by bus. Now I think nothing of travelling 13 hours across country to visit friends and relations. Mx

Morning World, The darn birds had a long lie this morning... which was good for me, actually I was still awake at 4:00, and if I'd come on line as planned instead of watching 'Behind Enemy Lines', I wouldnt have missed the shenanigans... Morning Velvet my love, Normie not cooking this week then... I was looking forward to one of his steaks... Debs, we seem to be missing each other this week girl, Had a girly day today, manicure, pedicure...ouch! Bit of retail therapy, couple of blouses - for the hols (...has a huge grin on the face at the thought of hols..) shoes... now why dont men understand one pair of shoes is not enough... Crossed the Bosphorus on the ferry, -forgotten how much I used to enjoy the trip ..till it became a chore ... - hundreds of Cormorants standing on the harbour wall, like minature soldiers protecting their territory... amazing, hey, you'll never guess! The dolphins are back! Must mean the water is cleaner at last... Have to go into school today, (I know on a Sunday - should be illegal) last picnic of the year, and for once the sun looks as though it's on our side. Being the 'token' foreigner I have to be there... 19 days and counting... Have a great day all, Magi

The movie was set during the US civil war. Nichole Kidman. Quite a long film. I never liked Kidman, but have changed my mind after seeing this. She was also on Oprah yesterday, and I quite liked her. Does anyone read the Oprah books of the month? She released her June/July/August picks yesterday. Deb
