***Waves to MaryClare*** Welcome to the night thread! How's Toronto these days? I must admit that I have never been there - shame on me! Then again, we live in a vast country. Also, it is cheaper to fly to the UK than fly 'back east' Deb

Hi Jacquie Its lovely to see you :-) How is Marley? hope he is a bit better. Group of Owls or is it Parliament or is that Vultures? LMHO We better stick to group Deb sounds betteror does it? they may think we are a clique ah well doesnt matter really. I found the same Jacquie very little interested me when I popped in, hopefully that will change but I seem to be saying goodbye to people a lot lately, not many hello's :-( I don't know whats gonna happen, normally I would have thought there would be more people around as Autumn/Winter sets in. I always seemed to just miss you... Not been around that much the last week or so... didn't seem much happening of interest on the boards. How are you? Have you spoken to Magi recently? I spoke to her last week one day or was it the week before! lol - she seems very busy, which is good! Jacquie xxxx

Oh Deb Sounds really brilliant and I do agree with you about those fabrics they are to die for, I am not a fashion or clothes person but this is different its comfort with glamour all in one, what more can you ask for :-) Next you will be hooked on Bollywood films once you get started lol. I used to listen to Asian Radio loads for the music some of the Bangara was so catchy even if they sang in punjab it was so catchy, definitely good for boring cleaning the house time. Pat x

HI PAT! Good to see you a round !! (circles - never mind) I have just 'talked to you ' on your thread. We went to the Sikh wedding yesterday. I feel very fortunate to have been able to attend. I was mesmerised with the ceremony. I enjoy learning about other cultures and traditions. That's it - now I want an Indian pant suit!! The women wore pant suits made from the most amazing fabrics. Bec - are you still there? Deb

Wow Vancouver brilliant now there is a place I would have loved to visit. Well dare say you'll love it there and I am sure Deb will lend you her best tiara :-) Know what you mean my great Aunt was my Nan and she was the salt of the earth from Southwark she was the strongest and most loving of women. Upfront and honest as the day is long she was one of the bravest from what she went through in the War like all our London ladies bombed out of their homes so many times, they struggled to keep family together. I am convinced they don't make them like that now do they? Thanks again Lynda and I hope you get over to Vancouver and let us know what you think my best mate went there in 1981 and when she got back to london she made arrangements to go and live out there which she did in 1984. She has never looked back from then on. Pat x

Pat Report 17 Oct 2005 01:02

LOL Thank you Lynda, Nah better not let ya down 'cos you end up talking like ya muvver and saying all the things you swore you wouldn't !!! people think your clever 'cos your old that's not bad better than people thinking your a silly moo. I was put out again today as my kids told me off for my music being too loud, bloomin' cheek!!! trouble with these young ones they have no taste they haven't ;-) Pat x

Debs and Pat and Bec... So sorry I missed you guys, would have loved a chat. Hubby wanted to watch a film and as we have no Tele have to watch DVD on computer. Once more I arrive too late!! Pat, I do feel for you with the loss of your animals, at the moment I am fighting to get Marley back to full health and glory!! He has had a bad skin problem also... for about 2 yrs now... the wonderful American Vet at the Vet School is doing his very best to sort it out but it will be a long haul and a lot of medicine for poor old (young) Marley. We will persevere because he deserves our best shot at making him well. Debs... great news that you have cracked your tree!! HRH aye!!! Nice to have royals in the family...lol. I have to say I agree with you about the boards... not been on much myself lately..... something is missing somehow. I love a good debate and it is a shame that it seems you have to be so careful watching your P's and Q's that any form of lively debate has gone out the window... Take care you two and hope to catch another time!!

Pat, I'm so sorry to hear about your beloved pets, but so glad you have found joy and happiness in your new kittens. A pet is a member of the family, and when they die (as I know) it is as traumatic as when a human member dies. One of our two cats, Zak, is not too good right now. We have had him for 13 years, and he was grown when we adopted him. We do not know his age. The big question is - when is the humane time to have him put out of his misery? Now onto a happier theme, I have had a breakthrough with my tree! I have found my elusive Prescilla Goodyear! With all the research, I have found that HRH, David Owen and myself are related! I even have the cert to prove it! deb

Hi Becs Hope all is Well with you love :-) Oh Deb I agree totally with you. you have said so well how I feel. These boards were good and can be again maybe like minded people should stick together and fight for our rights which is every full member on genes has the right to post or add to threads without being hassled because others do not agree with what is said, yes many many times I have agreed to disagree and I have had great discussions, but no hard feelings with others because we didn't agree. As sensible adults we have learnt to do this, trouble is others have not learnt it, so we have problems with a certain few. So this is what is happening here, hope you don't mind if I tell you this story. Don't know if you know Deb but my poor dog died nearly a week after leaving hospital she died in her sleep, she had terrible skin problems and also a heart murmour, she had been on tablets and special diet for years, I really felt for her as all this started when she was only 2 years old. It turns out I bought her as a Westie but she wasn't a true Westie I believe this happens and you get a bad litter ie. problem puppies there were 4 in her litter I knew 2 others both boys they died before they reached 5 years old, so i lucky my little girl lasted until she was 10years old. My cat had feline aids he was ok but somehow i think the dog dying upset him it felt he went down hill after cindy died and within the month my Mum had to bring him to the vet to be put down as he couldn't walk properly and we felt it was unfair for him to suffer, I buried them both together in the garden. My daughter Marcia was devastated she hadn't known a time without animals in the house, she is 11 years old (the youngest). Anyway a woman my mum knows not far from us brought a cat into the house as it was neglected and was sleeping on the back porch, it was a female and the usual she was pregnant she had 9 kittens, well I couldn't resist the last two and brought home brother and sister they are black and white and healthy little things that have been given the names minnie and sam, they have brighten our home and we are all very happy to have them here. Rambling on yet again lol. On another guinness now so hope you don't mind I ramble away, if you have to go no worries we shall catch up again. Pat x

Hi Pat and Bec. Pat I have to agree, the boards have changed. We at one time used to have great 'discussions'. Most of the time if there was a difference of opinion, people agreed to disagree. Not anymore! You either have 'it' or you don't. There are a lot of underhanded comments, that are deliberatly put up to instigate trouble. And there are those of the self appointed 'in crowd' that will add and fuel the fire. The crowd seems to be growing. I bet this will spur an underhanded 'retaliation' thread. LOL I'll proberbly be slaughtered for expressing my opinion. That has been done before! I will keep posting on threads that interest me. The rest I will leave. I am a member and I should be able to have my say. So there! We are going to a traditional Indian wedding in the morning. We have to be there by 9am. I have never been to one so it should be interesting. Deb
