hi all, i'm doing a 60km walk in september in aid of Breakthroughbreastcancer, i need to raise £1,500 before i even begin the walk, at the moment i'm finding it a hard task, so i'm looking to you wonderful supportive people on GR to help me prommote and support my challenge. If you would like to donate go to www.avivabreakthroughweekend.co.uk click on the london weekend, then put in cheryl hall in the participant box this will take you to my homepage where i will explain why i'm doing this walk, you can either make a secure donation on line or print off a donation form and send it with a cheque to Suite2 1 Georgr Williams way Colchester Essex Co1 2js Every penny donated today will be available tomorrow for research into this dreadful disease. Remember a few (well lots actually ) steps for little ol me will become GIANT leaps toward eradicating this disease. God bless you all xxCheryl

Original Added by Paul (Chunky Monkey) on 15/06/2006 09:48:44 No doubt this will get deleted.... On July 16th I'm taking part in the Cancer Research UK bike ride in Milton Keynes, which is part of their 'get on your bike' campaign. It's a 12 mile cycle ride, which should be reasonably challenging for me, as I haven't ridden a bike for a few years, and not regularly since I was at school. So wish me luck... thats all I'm asking for. Not sponsorship. Oh no, wouldn't catch me doing that... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Next weekend, my son and some of his friends are hoping to complete the 3 Peaks Challenge. This entails climbing the 3 highest peaks in Wales, England and Scotland in 24 hours. They have chosen a cancer charity to benefit from their efforts. I hope it's not too hot , but being a firefighter he'll be used to that. If you think you'd like to read about them and maybe even sponsor him you can find out here:-(substitute . for * ) www.justgiving*com/andybatchelor Gwyn

Added by Jennifer Currie on 09/06/2006 14:43:40 I got a letter from my pet charity this morning and I wondered if I could be so bold as to put their details on here in case it may either help anyone or to encourage donations. They do lovely Xmas cards too I have my own thoughts about the war in Iraq but I feel so much how the kids, when they come home, are just left to come to terms with what theyve seen. This charity really help people all ex service men/women and their families Combat Stress Tyrwhitt House Oaklawn Road Leatherhead Surrey KT22OBX Perhaps you could add any ones of your own? I would like to say a big thank you to all who have responded to this thread. I have had some donations which is great!! Still a long way to go to reach the target but not as far as yesterday!! Thank you, Jacky :-))) Just a reminder: My daughter Liz and I will be doing the Aviva Weekend Breakthrough to Cancer weekend walk of 60K (38 miles) in September. We have to raise £1500 each. It is for Breast Cancer research and we desperately need donations, not sponsors as we have to have the money before we are allowed to walk! Have a look at my page on the Aviva weekend site. Click on donate (no obligation!!), type in Jacky (or Elizabeth) Jeffreys and you will see why I am doing it and how I am going with my sponsorship.

Original Added by ☼☺☻Granny Lynne ☼☻&# on 06/05/2006 23:21:02 Race for Life I am not sure if I am allowed to post this here but I will do so anyway and if it gets deleted, so be it. Continuted in next message... Some of you will already know that my daughter, Jacqui, was diagnosed with a brain tumour last month. Fortunately, she is now on the road to recovery. Well, I have been watching the BBC1 prograamme, Race for Glory recently and I was so inspired by the people who took part, that I decided to have a go myself. They managed 26.2 miles; for the Race for Life, I only need do do 5km (just over 2 miles). I am almost 56 and a little (yeah, who am I kidding!) overweight. I am totally unfit for this run but I am determined to do it for my daughter, (who hopefully is now on the road to recovery) and also for my dad, Gerard Ford, who died of bowel cancer in 1997aged 71. So, what I am asking is for sponsorship for me to do the Race for Life. I hope to complete the 5km race, either running (not much chance!) or walking. There is a way of sponsoring online if people wish to use this method. If you would like to sponsor me, please send me a PM and I will give you the web addy. Thanks in advance for your (hoped for) co-operation Lynne PS: I am doing the Race for Life on 3 June (my 56th birthday). Please sponsor me, either by PM or online (which I will set up tomorroew and let you all know the addy) Off to bed now, will respond in the am. Thank you all in advance.

Off the top of my head it's nearly £4,000 - not all donations can claim the giftaid as I don't have all the addresses and not sure if all are tax payers! xx
