Hi all, Well it is Sunday again, should be a day of rest, but as usual there are lots of things to do. This coming week will be so busy for me with hospitals, doctors, blood pricking and even a breast scan. We have the usual scan for women 50-75 and I thought I had had my last one, but it seems I am included in this year's list. Like a good citizen I am obeying, although would have preferred it another week. Yesterday went to visit my household help as she was operated on last Tuesday. When she was 18 she fell under a bus and had horrific injuries to her legs. She is still undergoing every few years operations to graft skin over old wounds. She was very cheerful and is home being looked after by her husband. It was nice to meet her husband. I had already met her daughter. I had helped her make a card for her granddad's birthday. My help has arranged for her neighbour to come and help me in the house and is coming on wednesday this week. Yesterday I watched an eskimo film on television. It began so late so finished late! It finished 2.45 am. I was lucky that I was able to sleep ok after that. Usually I am overtired and cannot sleep. Anyway I had had extra long sleep after dinner and found it difficult to wake up. What hours we keep now we are pensioned! I cannot remember whether I told you that my doctor phoned me to tell me that I have two viruses (cystitis) and all the antibiotics I have been taking have been useless. I now have a much stronger one. I can only take this until Wednesday as then I have to start emptying my bowels ready for my investigation on Friday. Am going to have an ordinary meal today but one which we both love. It is sauerkraut, mashed into potatoes with smoked sausage and chopped bacon. Not a usual Sunday dinner, but who cares! Jude, I miss Di and Kathleen on this site too. Do you think they'll ever come back. Do you think maybe they will secretly be looking in on us?

EveningFolks, still checking and double checking these rellies but can not seem to get a confirmation that there is a link, would like to think there is one,but would also like more proof. Weather milder today ,have booked a holiday for April, but think I have told you all that, Made a prawn and haddock stir fry for tea,as I am using up things from the freezer, and did not want meat or chicken. Wasn't bad but don't think we will have it again.!!! Jude ,hope Madoc,s leg stays ok for you.WHat have you to do for his ears, can they get rid ofthe hairs? I can understand why you are in a tiz about the packing for the holiday, but I am sure it will all turn out ok. My dad found out late in life that he had an half brother who lived in Leicestershire, but by the time he had found outabout him, the brother had had a stroke and did not know them when they went Dad said ,he would have liked to get to know him had he known earlier.now he never will as he died(the brother shortly after). So go and see your siblings and enjoy. See you all tomorrow ,brenda

Very quick:o) Madoc's visit to the vets - gawd Vic had to wait outside until another dog had come out, then we dashed into the little surgery room cause a rather large German Shepherd called Roxy was waiting to come in - l actually had to ask the man and his wife if they'd mind waiting - so embarrassing - Madoc would have gone absolutely balistic - we need the trainer with us next time we visit me thinks!! lol Anyway he has these hairs in both ears, which is quite unusual that far down in the ear and they could be the reason he's had ear probs in the past, nothing drastic but inflamed and obviously sore. The leg seems ok at present so we'll stop the anti-whatsits stuff and ring the vet mid week to tell her if he's limping again, if he is she'll make an appointment for xrays. l don't think l fully realise whats happening yet re this holiday - l know the packing is giving me a bloomin headache, but the full scale of the distance, places and stop offs and seeing both sets of families, especially my half siblings is going to overwelm me l think. My brother had a brain heamorage 12 yrs ago, god he was only 35yrs old and now has very bad eye sight, l so hope he can see me, it will probably be the last time for a very long time if ever l visit him again - he can't travel on planes because of the brain op 12yrs ago. l don't know if the photo's l'm taking will be any good, actually l don't think they will so l'm going to print them larger!! Sylvia how are you?? Dorothy hope the weather is subsiding for you, don't over do it in the gym. Its been fairly cold here today and this morning it was very dull with abit of drizzle. Brenda - why not charge him more rent, or some rent if you dont or lock the puter in your room - kids eh???? Take care all:o) jude sarf wales:o) xx PS - we have a cousin visiting on Sunday from Sussex, not seen him for 4 and half yrs, bless him:o)

Afternoon all, well ,it's still ruddy cold up here but at least not as bad as the weekend thank goodness. Liz turns out to have just a very heavy cold ,and has managed to get downstairs and is now ensconced in front of the table with one of her jigsaws with a mountain of paper hankies for the use of. I havn't seen as much paper since we as kids were getting the pieces together at school for a paper chase lol. Jude ,you are certainly going to see some sights from the train before you even get to the canyon, you lucky begger lol,are you going to put some photos up for us all. Have a good time anyway and enjoy your holiday.,but it's a pity you can't take Madoc ,he would have fun chasing the road runner, and maybe his arch enemy willy coyote, but i don't fancy his chances of catching either. I can feel the heat of the sun here through the glass of the patio door and i reckon spring isn't too far away now ,it seems to be getting stronger now than it was just after Christmas ,which by the way ,is only 11 months away lol,Liz has already started on the pressies in the sales hee hee so get going you lot never mind the easter eggsor the flowers for you know when next month ,cor ,it's all hands in pockets these days lol. Have to go now and run the missus down for her pescription. ,so i will see you later.Fred.

Hi there :o) Fred how is Liz, hope she's feeling better now. The other day l noticed you said if l got the chance try and visit the Grand Canyon - well just before l read that l had an email from Vics neice to make arrangements for just such a visit - yipppppeeee. We're going on the train and its a 3day trip, how exciting - you're all going to get so fed up with all my tales when we get back:o)))))) We're off't any minute to the vets for Madoc's check up - his front leg seems better but he's still scratching his ear - he's also still on anti-whatsits, so we're not really seeing if the leg is poorly or not. Been walking every morning this week, took the camera this morning to take photo's of the swans - there's a family of 5 (last yrs) and 3 or 4 other adults - but of course just to be difficult the sun was hiding. l have a really nice one of Madoc on my mobile camera, but l'm having probs transferring it to my email - l will work it out!!! then l'll be able to send them to GC photo for you. Ok l must go as its nearly time for the vets. Is'nt ggggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat to see so many old names on Colins Thread - have you seen Kathleen Fennel on there???? l will send her a message later. Bye - will let you all know later how Madoc is. Brenda - you must think of you, praps your son needs slapped wrists. Take care everyone:o) jude sarf wales x

I say why spoil things bye for now dorothy

Morning allfrom the north of England ,up where the scotties used to play with their claymores lol. Poor old Liz has sucummed to this five day flu bug again ,so i have her tucked up in bed with her third cuppa and a book, but by 'eck,it she keeps drinking tea at this rate she will wear me,and the toilet carpet out by this evening hee hee. Talking about research,i was desolate last month to fing that the central library had been closed until 2008 for a complete reburbishment and i could no longer get to see the gro index,or the cencus records . We were in town yesterday however and saw one of the moble librarries parked at the top of Grainger street so i decided to ask how long it would be before the list's were going to be offline so to speak, they havn't was the reply, they have moved them to the civic centre ,but we forgot to inform the public grrrrrr ,what do we pay council tax for i sk myself. Anyway ,i can now go down there when Liz is better and find out all i need to know about My Edwin Barnes ,and ask how i can order a certificate on line, the idea being ,although i think i know the name of his mother ,i need to know for sure for the family tree, but i did have some luck to do with him online ,i thought he was an only child but find he had five siblings ,three brothers ,and two sisters,so that will keep me going a few weeks, but Ray,[my uncle ] says that two of these brothers emmigrated ,one to New york where he became head of the cleansing department [what a load of rubbish] and one went to Oz ,brisbane where he became Mayor, but we will see after i check it all out.but it's possible ,these Barnes seem to get everywhere lol. It can't decide what it wants to do today, overcast, pretty cold and damp ,so it's a wait and see day. The building over the road is going well ,and they will be finished well before Christmas ,so we won't be innundated by mud off the site again and get it trodden all through the house by visitors. Talking of the day, only 11 months to go peeps lol[ fred ducks to avoid all the old boots and shoes thrown by irate members hee hee] suffice to say ,our Liz has already got four pressies in ,hee hee,and is chomping at the bit in bed here cause she can't look for any more in the sales hee hee. I think she will be up before long so i have put a few cushions on the sofa and turned the heating in the front room up to make it a bit more comfortable for her. Going to go now ,make myself a drink and then do some dusting, have a good day all.Fred.

goodmorning I am very sleepy the tennis was on till 2am but very enjoyable, yes fred I do carry a nitro spray but for some reason only need to use it at airports, if I cover my mouth most of the time I manage, I do take a lot of meds but as they keep me quite healthy I really can't complain, the stent they put in my heart did not work and due to a quirk of nature a bypass is not a good bet as the top part of the heart is narrow and grafting on to it is risky. but it will be 6yrs since I was watching tiger woods play and the heat attack happened luckly as a nurse I knew what was happening and got help fast, now for all intents I am very well. enough of that I hope that you enjoy the haggis. the british and scottish store in town will be having some in . just read the weather in the bbc for bury and lewes(where the daughter in laws mothers is stayin) bury looks ok for to-day but lewes to get snow, well I am off to the shops and libary and the gym to-morrow is the day we are all going to freeze so thought I would get on with things to-day and of course tennis to-night bye for now dorothy

Hi everyone ,what a busy lot of beavers these past few days ,i feel quite remiss, but never mind i'm here now. Sounds as though you have a touch of angina Dorethy, you should either have tablets to place under your tongue or a spray and in the cold weather you should take this medication a good few minutes before going out in the cold, you should then feel more comfortable.but mind ,no ice skating now, lol. I hope you enjoy your trip Jude, sounds great ,and if you are in the area be sure to visit the grand canyon ,i'm told by rellies that the sight is unbelievable. Fat cat and Madoc sound as if they are going to be well looked after and won't come to any harm. It's gone all dark and dingy here in the past few minutes so i reckon we are either going to get piddled on again ,or, it's goin' to snow ,and just when i was thinking of getting myself down the town ,sigh, never mind ,i will take the car to the station and then get the metro which will save me standing about waiting for a bus . I have my haggis in ready for tomorrow nigjht and it looks as though the eldest son will be comingto join us,because he is a bit of a poet who has had some stuff published in the past ,and won a prize in the litarary circles in the states, anyway ,Rabbie Burns is his hero ,so i reckon after the meal we will be getting our ears bashed a bit with his ,and Rabbie's poems . Looking out back i see our birds have emptied the seed feeders again ,so i must remember to get some sunflower seeds from Wilkies, they seem to go down quicker than anything else. I'm off now to get myself organised,so i will see ya later, have a nice day all.Fred.
