'Bleep'-ing Royal Mail

Firstly, apologies to anyone on this board who happens to work for the Royal Mail - this isn't a direct dig at you. I've had a couple of pieces of post go astray lately, and to top it all off, I'd ordered a couple of birth certificates direct from King's Lynn RO over a fortnight ago; rang them today to check how much longer they'd be, and was told that they were posted to me on 29 April ! I rang Royal Mail and was told that there's no way they can find out what has happened as it was just normal post, and not registered. Needless to say I've put in a complaint and a request for compensation for my £14 that's gone down the drain. It does start to concern you over what really vital pieces of post have also gone missing. Simon
